We are two friends from Latvia, from the city of Riga. Today, on the way to the Fondancione Prada exhibition, we went to the Vini de Pinto restaurant and ordered wine and snacks there - an Italian woman served us and everything was fine. On the way back we stopped by again and ordered wine and appetizers one more time. We sat on the terrace and talked to each other in Latvian. When my friend went to the toilet, the girl behind the bar started speaking very rudely in Russian and insulting my friend. As far as we both were born in Latvia in Soviet period, we understand russian language. But we don’t support russia and hate putin. The bartender girl name is Diana and she turned out to be from Ukraine. She rudely shouted at us to get out of the bar because we are Russian for her point of view. In response to our objections that we are Latvians and we are from the country that helps Ukraine the most in Europe, she shouted obscenely and insulted us in Russian. We asked to call the manager, to which we were given a waiter who tried to apologize, while the employee from Ukraine continued to insult us. We left as if spat upon, and considering that we have always supported Ukraine and helped it both morally and financially, we really received big moral injury. I understand that there are idiots everywhere, but even idiots must understand that Ukraine needs support now, more than ever, and alienating friends at such a moment is a crime against your country and your people!

I would give a zero stars for service if i could for this place. After checking Google rating 4.3, we decided to get some seafood for lunch from the local fish market, Vini da Pinto is right there. At first, the waiter came a little pushy advertising his specials, and we kindly declined and ordered from the menu. The caprice salad and carpacio were great, and for the main dish, I got the spaghetti and seafood, and my wife got Frutti de Calamari (deep fried Calamari). Looked good, but had no taste, no seasoning, the Calamari were rubbery and felt like were warmed in microwave. When my wife told that to waiter he claimed that she ate almost the whole thing, where is was an absolute lie, because she took couple of bites, mostly vegetables, and then gave me to try, and the rest was left untouched. Not even 1/4 was eaten. After receiving a check, we found that instead of taking the dish off the recept, he gave us a $9 discount. The dish cost $19. This is unbelievable! The waiter was very irritated, abrupt, and loud. He said, "I ate your dish, and it was fine. " No apologies, no respect, just made us feel like we were liars or something. Completely ruined our beautiful day. Also, he did not give the receipt until I demanded it. Long story short, they finally took off the charge. But killed the mood anyway. Stay away, just to keep your trip experience positive! P.S. The bread basket is not complementary. The charge is €2.50 per person for the less than average bread

Unfortunately this was just a so-so meal in Venice and a bad experience with the service (and while traveling in Italy, you don’t want to “waste” a dinner on not great food.) The mixed seafood appetizer was pretty good - however I bit into something hard and it was a piece of plastic! I told the waiter and literally handed him the plastic. The waiter then was talking (in Italian so I didn’t understand) about the plastic to a co-worker. No offer was made to replace the appetizer, so we proceeded to eat the other items. Then I asked for some wine (twice) and was just brought a glass without telling them what kind of wine I wanted, so I thought maybe this was a free glass because of the plastic. We ate the rest of our meal. The pasta was also OK. but my entree of the almond crusted fish was bad (very dry, unseasoned and bland). When our bill came, they charged me full price for the appetizer and also for wine. So I questioned the waiter, he rudely said - but you ate the whole thing. Um wow - that’s not how to talk to a customer. I said yes we did, except for the part with the PLASTIC in it. He continued to argue with me, and I just said that I didn’t expect it to be comped (which maybe its cultural, but it would have been in America,) But I did think it should be discounted or given a break elsewhere - aka free glass of wine.

Our group of four dined here on Wednesday Oct 16. This was our last night in Venice and we looked at reviews and decided to dine here. What started out as a ver pleasant experience as the atmosphere is awesome and the menu looked delicious. We were brought our menus at 6:20 and we ordered a bottle of wine. Waited awhile but we got our bottle of wine. We were the only ones inside the restaurant at the time. We finally ordered our dinner around 7:00 as we could see more people coming in. We waited and waited and could see that all the people coming into the restaurant were already getting served and they had ordered a long time after us. We finally asked where our food was and a short time later we received our appetizer of mussels. We finished that and yet more people were coming in and getting served food. This by now was almost 8:00. We finally got the attention of our waiter and he had NO explanation as to why we didn’t have our dinner yet. We finally got our dinner at 8:30 after asking many times where are food was and why is everyone else getting their food before us. We were very upset over the poor service we received. Our husbands walked out after we didn’t even get our bill so we could pay and leave. We had to ask more than once where our bill was. In the end all they did was take off 14.00 of a 255.00 bill. All that was said is I’m sorry!!!! No other compensation for our 2 1/2hour wait for our food. This is the worse service we have we received ever in a restaurant!!!!!!! ...
