Came here because of the huge "gluten-free" sign as well as because our tour guide mentioned this place.

She (the tour guide) also went in and talked to the owner about how gluten-free their interpretation of senza glutine really is. The answers given indicated, that they have enough awareness on the issue that I could feel safe eating there. Clearly the gluten-free pizza is not for coeliacs like me (same oven as regular pizza), but once they know I do believe they try to prepare your dish carefully.

The house wine was very delicious, hence I struggle a bit to remember what food we had...

My wife had pasta and the beef filet later on. She was very pleased. I had sepia with polenta and a primo that was also quite delicious.

We were looking for a place with the traditional trattoria atmosphere and that is just what we got.

Owner and his staff were making sure our dinner was pleasant.

Can...

We ended up here on a happy accident when the restaurant we initially wanted to go to was was fully booked, when we asked the man at the other place if he had a recommendation for us (with zero expectations) he walked us down a block or two to here where I was thrilled to see gluten free pizza on their sign (the other restaurant is AIC accredited so that boosted my confidence in this place).

It’s not a super fancy place which was nice and priced accordingly. I’m gluten free (celiac) and got the pizza which was some of the best I’ve had so far with a really nice crust. My boyfriend got the normal pizza and said it was the best he’s had on the trip so far.

For dessert I got the gluten free tiramisu which comes in a jar and is more of a mousse on a thin layer than a multi layer tiramisu but it was delicious!

For a happy accident I would definitely...

I have been here twice, in Feb 2015 and 2016. I found it on Google from a search when my friend and I were wondering where to go on Valentine's night for dinner, we were able to book a table for that night (called at 6pm) ... never have felt more welcome! It's such a lovely and intimate setting with gorgeous low beams! We were never rushed and the customer service was excellent! It was a Saturday AND Valentine's night AND last weekend of carnevale, yet it just seemed like an ordinary evening. I took my mum, this year and she was just as impressed as I was! There was banter with guests and staff alike. It's a fantastic atmosphere! I have just recommended it to a friend who is going to...

After a long day of touring the beautiful surrounding islands we came across Al Vecio Canton the music and the cool vibe drew is in. We asked for AC and the waiter took us upstairs. With the low ceilings and the cool decor, we knew we were in someplace special. My wife and I weren't super hungry so we shared the calzone. The light crust was domed high and was at least 14 inches across. Once we tasted it we became very hungry and demolished it. Paired with inexpensive wine and an Apriol Spritz. We were satisfied and out the door for just 30 euro. You won't go wrong with this restaurant.

Our waitress was very good however, there was a little bit of a "conveniant" language barrier once I told her my pasta was undercooked. Her voice level made everyone else in the room know of my complaint. Somehow this meal was taken downstairs and cooked all over again in 5 minutes. I get the sauce is pre cooked but the pasta shouldn't be. Had to justify myself 2 more times during my meal (the waitress & I'm assuming it was the kitchencheff). Made the rest of the meal very uncomfortable. Would not go back again. Pizza was average in comparison to other Pizzas we've tried in Venice.
