Al Giardinetto da Severino was a complete letdown with a terrible dining experience that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. From start to finish, the service was a disaster. We ordered one dish per person, but somehow the waiter managed to bring out an extra dish. When we pointed out the mistake, he not only denied it but took it to the next level by being outright rude and disrespectful. He forcefully insisted that we had ordered the extra dish and even placed it in front of my face, showing no regard for our preferences or feelings.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the ordeal continued when the bill arrived. To my dismay, I was charged for the extra dish and even for the additional aqua that I never ordered in the first place. It felt like a slap in the face after enduring such appalling service.
The frustration didn't end there; it took an excruciatingly long 30 minutes for our water and drinks to finally arrive after being seated and placing our orders. The waiter's lack of prioritization was evident as he seemed more interested in drinking and socializing with other guests than attending to our needs.
Throughout the entire meal, I couldn't shake the feeling of being neglected and mistreated. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails so miserably in basic hospitality and professionalism. Despite the potential for a pleasant dining experience with a lovely ambiance, Al Giardinetto da Severino's abysmal service overshadowed any hope of enjoyment.
I regret choosing this restaurant for what was supposed to be a special family gathering. The unpleasant experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I have no intention of returning or recommending it to others. A restaurant's reputation hinges on its ability to provide not just good food but also attentive and respectful service, and Al Giardinetto da Severino failed on both counts.
In conclusion, my visit to Al Giardinetto da Severino was an utter disappointment. The horrible service, the mistaken order, the disrespectful behavior of the waiter, and the billing error all contributed to an incredibly frustrating and unpleasant evening. I would advise anyone looking for a satisfying dining experience to steer clear of this...
Read moreWe ate there on our trip to Venice because of the good reviews . The patio is very pretty, the waiters are very kind, friendly , the owner was also very kind and very nice. About food, my family was lucky, they ate some delicious gnocchi bolognese, but I ordered gluten-free pasta with pesto and it came very, very hard, excessively hard. When I said I couldn't eat it because it was so hard, they took it away and after less than 5 minutes, they brought it back to me, it was a little softer, but totally tasteless, without flavor, as if it had been cooked again in water without salt and with the pesto sauce, since it was watery and tasteless, the pesto sauce was dripping through the water. Totally imposible to eat. I didn't want to complain again becouse shame or in case they would treat us badly. I imagine that's happens to some tourists that want enjoy and to have a good time without complaining or fighting . I am sure rhat with an Italian the chef would never have done something like that. I think it was disrespectful and unprofessional for a restaurant to bring , after 5 minutes, the same spaguetti . That ,is a culinary crime. How much does a portion of spaghetti cost? One euro? We spent almost 100 euros there that night. At least if someone say that the spaguetti are to much hard, made a new spaghetti and make sure they are perfect no soft,no hard, al dente like I have eaten in another restaurant in our trip to Venecia. For me it was the worse spaguetti without gluten that I have ever tasted.. And I'm sorry to make this review because the place is beautiful and the waiters were very friendly.
Tip next spaguetti senza gluttine ; Try one before serving it, gluten-free pasta takes different...
Read moreHands down the best meal we had during our visit to Venice! From the moment we stepped through the door, the staff was welcoming and accommodating, taking the time to make thoughtful recommendations and ensure my dietary needs were addressed. We ordered a variety of dishes, from pasta to fish, and each one was just as delicious as the next—including the gluten-free gnocchi! As someone with Celiac, I’m always cautious about dining out, but the staff here was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection and even came with warm gluten-free bread.
For dessert, we shared the gluten-free tiramisu (yes, they offer gluten-free tiramisu), and it was so good that not one of us could tell the difference. If you have Celiac, you know that’s impressive!
Aside from the amazing staff and incredible food, the ambiance of this restaurant was stunning. Housed in a former 1400s chapel, the high ceilings and vine-covered courtyard added a charming, unique touch. Plus, its location away from the busy tourist areas gave it a more local, intimate vibe.
If you’re in Venice, do yourself a favor and don’t...
