We have stayed at this hotel twice before. When we arrived we were given a free "upgrade" to a suite in the adjacent annexe building. Our room number was 503 (Rialto Suite). This was a much superior room to those we have previously stayed in at this hotel. The only drawback was it was up four flights of stairs. Luckily the porter took our luggage up on arrival. For those more elderly, and less mobile, I suspect access would be an issue as there is no lift. The suite it self is effectively on three levels also. Ground floor consists of a living area with minibar, coffee-making facilities and TV/stereo. Upstairs is the bedroom and bathroom where there is another TV. The bathroom was extremely small compared to the overall size of the suite. The shower cubicle must of been one of the smallest I have experienced and the water temperature was somewhat inconsistent, ranging from hot to tepid! Air conditioning in the bedroom and downstairs living area was first class. Up a further flight of steep stairs was an outdoor terraced area with a variety of seating and a sunshade. This was a welcome addition and, on balance, made up for the access and bathroom concerns. Breakfasts at the hotel were excellent with plenty to choose from. Service was good particularly at breakfast and Mark was particularly helpful on reception. All in all it was another enjoyable...
Read moreStayed here in early July. Knew nothing coming in, booked by our travel agent. It was a great hotel, with superb service and a great breakfast offering. They have a bar and offer dinner as well, but we didn’t dine here other guests said it was great. The rooms were nicely appointed, very clean, comfortable and roomy. (Not something you always get in Europe.) two of our group had the panoramic penthouse with a deck. Absolutely spectacular views of the city and the basilica. View of the bridge of sighs. Boat service if planned by hotel right to the front door. They also have a boat ride of the city you can plan in the evening (45/55 euro pp) a great way to see a lot. No guide, just a boat ride. They also have a deal with a place in Murano where a boat will pick you up and take you over there. You have to do their tour, (about 30 mins) but enjoyable. If you buy, they get you a boat back, if not easy enough to get a public transport. They will coordinate boat service back to airport too. (200 euro for 5 of us with 5 bags, each additional bag 5 euro). Had wine in the lobby met many travelers, a wonderful time indeed! The hotel is quiet, but in the heart of everything! Piazza St Mark, a 10 minute walk max, Rialto Bridge 15 mins tops. A true hidden gem with every team member tripping over themselves to ensure our stay...
Read moreFrom the booking experience to every detail of our stay the hotel and its staff were on top of everything. Our US flight into Rome was very delayed which meant our train into Venice was much later than anticipated which meant that the private water taxi to the hotel had to be changed. Not a problem for Alessandro. Once in the hotel we were hungry and he called a nearby local restaurant who said that they would stay open (it was 10:30 PM). Like most European hotels the room (suite)was small but had everything we needed including a well appointed bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The linens were crisp, including the duvet cover. The decor was very Venetian and the hotel was obviously once a palace. The daily service was impeccable. Breakfast each morning was included in the fee and was perfect to get us started on our day. At the end of the day we relaxed in the bar/lounge. We ordered a bottle of wine which, if unfinished, was held for us until we arrived the next day. The private complimentary boat to Murano was great. We and 2 other guests were picked up right at hotel dock. Alessandro arranged for our departure taxi when we left. We can honestly say that no request was too much for the staff. We enjoyed seeing their welcoming smiles each day. Thank you for making our stay in Venice...
