Bar Gabbiano — Restaurant in Venice

Wow. What a find.

Only three reviews but we decided to make the journey to the far end of the island and this bar.

It isn’t the easiest place to find as it is part of the hotel Cipriani. You need to turn down the alley next to the Cips club restaurant and go to the gate. There is a guard that you have to ask for a pass to enter the grounds.

He was very pleasant and gave us instructions. The hotel grounds are stunning and you walk through their meticulously kept gardens and into the hotel.

You then turn left in the hotel and around the corner into the bar.

The walls are lined with photos of famous guests and the staff welcomed us and showed us to a table while a piano player sang. All in all a great first impression.

The staff were incredibly attentive and snacks were there instantly and they are quick to point out they can make any cocktail you might want.

The setting is beautiful and I would go back in a heartbeat.

One thing to prepare for is the cost per cocktail. They are about €28 each but that seemed to be the case in a lot of the top end bars in Venice. These cocktails were very good and even though we were not guests in the hotel we were made to feel very welcome. I really...
