Okay, this was a bitter-sweet experience. We flagged this restaurant before departing Canada and came on our first day, as we read this area was away from the busy touristy Venice and would have better food and prices. The location is FANTASTIC! Right by the water, you see Piazza SAN Marco right across the lagune and the service is absolutely fantastic. One day here in Venice and we can see that service is not a priority here in pretty much all places we have been to. Now the food, I ordered the risotto of the day which was very good. My wife ordered the ravioli with brown butter and sage and this is where we were disappointed. You come to Italy and expect real hand made pasta but these raviolis are the same I buy frozen at home and feed my kids when I don’t want to cook anything elaborated. Finally there was no browned butter or sage, just a cream sauce. In conclusion, I would recommend this place, don’t order the ravioli, I wish I ordered the fish also, they really recommended it as being fresh. They will not rush you at all and you will definitely have...
Read moreI recently ate at I Figli Delle Stelle. I cannot complain about the scenery as I ate, it was beautiful. However, we were served mouldy bread with our main. I ate two pieces before I realised it was mouldy, then promptly told our waiter who apologised and insisted on giving us new bread. By this point our meal was finished so replacement bread wasn’t necessary. When it came time to pay - there was no offer of compensation for the fact we were served and had eaten mouldy bread. I brought it up with the waiter that it seemed unusual that there was no further mention of their fault and she was no help at all - just brushing it off and saying she could do nothing else about the matter. I would NOT recommend eating here. Awful assistance by staff and completely...
Read moreAbsolutely loved our dining experience at this charming restaurant on a Venetian island! The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was exceptional, with highlights being the Tagliata di Manzo, the fish of the day, Tiramisu, and the classic Pizza Margherita – all dishes bursting with flavor and expertly prepared.
The restaurant’s approach to children was commendable, making it a fantastic choice for families. We were also treated to a stunning view of Venice and St. Mark's Square, which added a magical touch to our meal. The ambiance was further enriched by the presence and occasional song of seagulls, making the entire experience truly unforgettable. Highly recommend this gem for anyone...
