Bontà — Restaurant in Venice

I must admit this turned out to be quite a positive surprise!

I needed a quick bite to sustain me through the last leg of a fairly long trip.

I hadn't had tramezzini in a long time and Bontà offered quite a good selection. The display though didn't look too appealing. Condensation on the glass made it hard to see. Plus many tramezzini were covered by part napkins.

But then the real test, the eating, was very positive. I would have happily had a second one if I didn't have dinner waiting for me.

The bartender was very gentle once I could get her attention. The first attempt to do so wasn't very fruitful as she was fully focused on talking with a friend and ignored the fact that I was waiting at the counter. I had to come back a few mins later to finally be...

Cappuccino e brioche sono buoni, ma trovo profondamente irritante che l'operatrice proponga ogni volta di comprare qualcos'altro. La prima volta ho preso cappuccino e brioche, e lei mi ha chiesto se volevo prendere anche un'acqua minerale "a soli tot euro.punto.qualcosa in più per approfittare dell'offerta menu-bla-bla-bla". La seconda volta ho chiesto "una brioche da portare via" e l'operatrice ha insistito con "vuole anche un cappuccino?". NO! Non lo voglio! Ho chiesto una brioche da portare via! Se avessi voluto anche un cappuccino avrei chiesto "un cappuccino e una brioche da portare via". DETESTO profondamente questo modo di fare perché è un tentativo di convincere l'utente a comprare di più di quello che vuole, che probabilmente riesce, visto che viene applicato in modo sistematico. The cappuccino was barely lukewarm. I drank it in one large gulp. She asked medium or small. When we said medium, she gave us the largest size. Why not say regular or large when you have these two sizes? The croissant was quite average. Avoid this. Go to Puro Gusto on the opposite side...
