Stunning ice cream combined with a stunning view. When I visited Venice the first time 9 years ago, fresh out of school, single and full of dreams, this gelateria was run by an old lady. Today I visited again, during my honeymoon together with my wife, fullfilled myself at least one dream. I told her alot about this old lady and the delicious ice cream. Our AirBnB Host told us about the "best place for ice cream". It was il Pinguino. All the time it was il Pinguino. Only that it's now run by a young woman. You rock, your ice cream rocks your prices are great (back home we pay 2,50€ for 3/4 of your scoops), you should earn at least 8 or 9 Stars. But I can only give 5. Thanks for a beautiful evening in Venice, enjoying the sunset while eating the best ice cream of this wonderful town! 8-9 out of 5 stars, definitely recommend.

Came here after checking out other reviews and it did not disappoint. Was a rainy day in Venice, we had just been to the nearby gardens and then stopped here. We got the extra large cup, 5 flavours to share (hubby, our 10 year old son and I) and it was 7.50 euro. It was HUGE. We got Dubai chocolate, pinguino (Nutella and cream), caffe, caramello and pistachio and they were all delish. Definitely want to go back and get more of the Dubai chocolate, first time I’ve tried it, it was yum!

Very smooth gelato. Decent price (at least compared to San Francisco ice cream prices). I got a combination of pistachio and coffee in a cone. Nice rich flavors. There is a gluten free cone option but did not taste it. There are some cement benches on the water front and some other benches about 200-300 meters away along the canal to sit and eat. Fun life-sized sign of a penguin holding enormous cones also!

Absolutely the BEST gelato in all of italy. We have been to over 15 gelato spots and this is by a landslide the best gelato. The service is impeccable as well as the flavor and texture of the gelato. The server remembered us and our orders with only seeing us once for a brief moment the day before. She also shows her love for her job with her shining smile even 5 minutes before close! Without a doubt this restaurant deserves 5 stars from everyone and the multitude of high reviews it has only shows the surface of how truly remarkable this establishment is. BEST...

We stopped by for a few minutes on our walk for gelato, this was the best we’d had during our stay with a good mix of types.

Some of the staff struggle with English (I know we could struggle more to learn Italian) but for those unable to adapt to trying to learn its worth bearing in mind that some staff may be unable to offer or understand quite what you want!
