Wine bar Angio — Restaurant in Venice

We dined at this restaurant three times in a row, drawn by the quality of the food. However, we consistently noticed that one of the male waiters seemed to have a problem with foreigners. At best, he was harsh; at worst, he was outright rude and dismissive. He never greeted us with a "Good day" or "Buongiorno," which we initially thought might be due to forgetfulness. However, it became clear that he did not have the same attitude towards Italian guests.During our last visit, he blatantly ignored my girlfriend, even though she was standing right in front of him. This behavior was so noticeable that it even annoyed the Italian ladies he had been speaking to moments before. Our observations seem to be echoed by other reviews of this place.While the food was excellent and the blonde lady who served us was lovely, I feel compelled to give a lower rating. In these challenging times, there should be zero tolerance for any sign of xenophobia, especially in a profession that should welcome all guests with kindness and respect. While the location is decent, this establishment is a disgrace due to the overt racism displayed by the staff. If you're not Italian, don't expect basic respect or even acknowledgement. My partner was blatantly ignored by the staff during a recent visit, and this seems to be a recurring issue based on the numerous reviews stating the same. The owner clearly has no interest in addressing this, choosing instead to dismiss these complaints. Stopped here for a macchiato, sat down with a glorious view and had a lovely rest from all my walking. 3 Euros. Liked it so much, I had 2 glasses of Venice Prosecco, 4.50Euros a glass. No service charge included. No hidden costs. Friendly, kind service and complimentary crisps. I enjoyed my visit so much I returned for lunch later on today and had their very tasty lasagne (9 euros ) and an Aperol Spritz (5). A very relaxing stay. I definitely recommend!
