I never leave bad reviews but this was a disaster.
It was my last night in Venice and the night was marvelous with full moon, I felt so lucky I could sit down here with view of the moon and have a pleasant night.
The service was a disaster. I had 3 different waiters coming and going. I wanted to order the burrata + the 6 pieces selection of cichatti. The first waiter when I asked what I wanted, instead of suggesting maybe was too much food, he said it was too much food FOR ME and also that I would be spending around 50 eur on both and started suggesting me it was a lot of money. I never asked for his opinion and I know I look simple and younger than I am but i think it’s non of his business if I can spend 10 50 or 200 eur on a dinner which I don’t mind spending as long as it’s a nice and pleasant dinner. Then I order the burrata to start and was looking to get some pasta after. And the bottle of olive oil was empty on my table. I asked 3 different waiters for a new bottle. Finally it came a new one. I didn’t want to resign to adding olive oil to my burrata before starting to eat.
While I’m eating my burrata it happened the most BIZARRE and UNCOMFORTABLE thing it has ever happened to me while traveling alone and having dinner by myself. A waiter approaches from my back and whispers something in Italian in my ear. I felt VERY uncomfortable and not in control. I wanted to stand up and leave. Was very inappropriate and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and awkward which is very rare for me to feel. I’m usually extremely easy going and more when traveling but this was too much.
Immediately I asked for the check. Finished my drink and left.
Not coming back ever and I don’t recommend this place at all.
Waiters aren’t professional at all and it feels they are just university kids trying to earn some money...
Read moreHey guys American here who just got back from Italy. We had lunch at this place and was everything we could ask for.
We sat outside on a sunny day by the water. They waited no time to seat us, and gave us bread and appetizers quickly. I started this review by saying I am from America. I said that because we got good service from people here. They listened to every question we had, answered every question we had, and gave us what we asked for. A lot of other places took 20 mins to bring us bread, or to take our requests. We asked for new placemats, dishes, water bottles, cups with ice, a table by the water, and other things. They got us everything we wanted. No language barrier.
I also like this place for other reasons. The obvious waterfront views are spectacular. Most restaurants have art on the wall. This place was outside, covered by a tent, and had a view of all the action. I couldn’t ask for more. It was also 5 mins walk from our hotel. That day we went there, we also had a museum tour lined up. Again, not more than a 5 minute walk either.
I suggest...
Read moreGreat food, fish deconstructed and fileted before our eyes which was cool. Service took a long time, from sitting down to getting our plate of food was about an hour but we did order a whole fish each. Be warned you pay by weight! It's not the 9euro on the menu (which would be too cheap logically speaking). Cost 83 euro for 3 oysters in their shell, the whole fish meal, 1 Aperol spritz, a beer and the usual breads and water, including the surcharge and tip for the kind waitor. It was delicious and a real splurge. The most i spent eating out.
Location was fantastic! Looking out over the water with The Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in the near horizon. Local tradies on boats weaving in and out of the narrow entrance to one of the canals next to the outdoor seated area. Water taxis, gondolas. People watching at its best. Sorry cant find the epic...
