The waiters were extremely welcoming and nice, but everything else was disappointing. Starting from the top: after we ordered, we were given a basket with stale white bread, no olive oil or even butter to smooth things out. The food is split into first dishes, second dishes and sides, and as I understand it you’re expected to order one of each (where each one is €20, give or take, so the price of a regular full dinner elsewhere) to even begin feeling full. We didn’t get it because looking at the prices we assumed it was fine to order just one dish and a side per person (still, €30-40, not counting drinks). I got two tiny slices of fish, exactly four pieces of vegetable (if I remember correctly, it was a cucumber sliced so thinly it was just about transparent, a slice of grilled bellpepper and mushroom, and a single leafy string of a vegetable I didn’t recognise that tasted like water), both drizzled with a green sauce that tasted like badly mixed pesto with olive oil. My friend got a cutlet or something similar, and it was basically breaded bone. There was barely any meat on it, and there were no add ons offered unlike on mine. You’d think that the food would at least be good, for that price and that quantity, but my fish was average at best (tasted like the supermarket variety you can heat up in a microwave) and my friend was basically just chewing on breading the whole time (and it apparently wasn’t particularly well flavoured either). It’s good that we both got french fries (bland, again tasted like the supermarket) on the side because we would have been starving otherwise. Even still after we were done we went straight to the supermarket (ironically enough) and bought a frozen pizza to reheat in our hotel room. It cost less than even the water we were served, and was much tastier. The quality of the food we got was one I’d expect of food that costs less than a quarter of the price we ended up paying, and I’m not even getting started on the quantity here. Overall, though the waitstaff was very kind, our experience was terribly disappointing. This place seems like a blatant overpriced tourist trap on all fronts, and I wouldn’t...
Read moreWe booked with The Fork for a Sunday evening at 21:30. We arrived and there was only one more table occupied besides us. All the other tables were empty.
The restaurant was closing at 22.30 and, before we could receive our dishes to eat, the staff passed TWICR with BIG BAGS OF TRASH on the main saloon to put outside. The whole place was smelling like trash after that. The staff was in a hurry to close the restaurant around 21.40 when we were still waiting for the food. A guy from the staff passed by our table and started undressing his t-shirt in front of us while he headed to another room!
On the good part, the dishes were good but there was incomplete information about the ingredients on the menu, so I had to send back my order since it came with a sauce all over the dish that I’m allergic to and it was not mentioned at all.
In addition, when we arrived were anyway put on a table against the wall and when we asked to change to sit next to each other (we are a couple) we received resistance from the staff saying that the table we wanted was for 4 people and that we are supposed to sit in front of each other since that place is not a cinema. There was no one else at the restaurant at this point and the waiter was inconvenient and ironic.
We felt not welcomed from the beginning to the end.
For the first time in my life I’ve seen the trash of a restaurant pass by the main saloon of the restaurant even before I started eating. Lack of professionalism and respect with the customers.
I wouldn’t...
