After a very hot morning sightseeing in Venice, we were really pleased to come across this attractive restaurant with a shady, cool garden — a perfect place to escape the heat.
The lunch menu offered a good selection of lighter dishes, and I chose the Pinsa Romana with datterino, Stracciatella, guanciale, and pesto. It was a very tasty crusty focaccia topped with sweet yellow tomato purée, rich guanciale, and a vibrant pesto — very nice and well-prepared.
The setting was lovely and the food was genuinely impressive. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. Despite having around five members of waiting staff, there seemed to be no coordination at all — the food took a very long time to arrive, and we even saw other tables leave after waiting too long just to get a menu.
Such a shame, as this place has great potential, but the chaotic service really detracted from the...
Read moreThe concierge at our hotel made the reservations for us and we were so happy with the meal! The sommelier was phenomenal. We didn’t want bottles that were terribly expensive and in a high-end restaurant, you sometimes feel looked down upon when you order less than a $200 bottle of wine. We got one bottle local to Venice and an Alcacian that were both very good and less than 70€ each. We started with an oyster for each of us as well as the stuffed squash blossoms. The oysters were good but those squash blossoms may have been one of the best appetizers I had the two weeks we were in Italy! For dinner we shared the risotto, the turbot and steak among our table of 4. Everything was delicious and perfectly accompanied. This is a traditional done dining experience. Don’t expect a speedy meal. But for the ambiance and quality of food, it is all so...
Read moreWe were intrigued from the first glace and decided to sit down since it was really close to place ae stayed at the last day. The restaurant was quite busy, however we got the table fast. I understand from the other reviews that the place near the canal opens up for lunch, however we sat in the garden, closer to the street. The food was tasty, but nothing exceptional. Portions quite small and without anything as a side dish - I ordered fried mocarella and it was only it. We paid 6€ for coffee, and around 20/25€ per brunch meal. The service was not what you would expect at a restaurant, lack of attention to the customer and quite unprofesional arguing between the waiters. The interior of the restaurant is impressive, the pastries looked delicious, however we would not come back next time we are in Venice. Had greater experiences in...
