I’m surprised this restaurant has only 5 star ratings. The location is great, beautiful views, very nice terrasse. I tried calling to make a reservation a couple of days prior to our arrival in Venice. Tried speaking English, French, and Spanish to the waiter on the phone, he lied and said he only spoke Italian, so I did everything I could to be understood, but after a minute of trying, the waiter responded in English, frustrated, then hung up on me without taking my reservation! Impossible to have them back on the phone, they kept hanging up… very very rude… upon arrival, every single staff member was able to speak both French and English… The pizzas we ordered were plain, boring, not very hot and didn’t taste that exceptional… the butter knifes hurt our fingers, impossible to cut a slice without sawing through it! We come from France, and have had way better experiences in Italian restaurants here than in Venice. Maybe because it’s a touristy spot…or maybe we shouldn’t have ordered pizzas…too bad… we...

Warning tourist trap.

Stopped here for some pasta and espresso but was extremely surprised by the terrible attitude of the waiters and the restaurant staff.

We were charged an additional 2.5 eu per head (5 in total) as sitting charges in the final bill.

The waited had the audacity to tell me that this is the practice in entire Venice, when I pushed back be mentioning that I just had lunch at St Marks Square and I was not charged this the waited mentioned that this was the restaurant policy. I asked to speak to the managed but there was none. I also noticed that few other customers didn’t have this sitting charge, when I mentioned this, the waiter again told me that they were ordering only drinks. I paid the money and walked out in disgust, told the waiters that I don’t mind paying extra, but don’t like being taken advantage of.

All in all, a big tourist trap which I...

Extremely rude staff, asked us if we wanted to sit in or eat out for some ice cream so I said eat out. After we went outside my dad decided he wanted to have some food and drinks so my mother sat down, the waiter came running over shouting no no no stand up. Extremely embarrassed she stood up and was told we had to go away to eat our ice creams that we had just paid for from the same place, and if we wanted food and drinks to come back after we finished them.It was extremely embarrassing and the waiter was extremely rude. He walked off mid conversation as we were extremely confused. We offered to pay extra for the ice cream to sit and stay etc and we’re told that no it wasn’t a possibility. I then spoke with Albert who told me he was too busy doing “all the things” he had to do to entertain a conversation. Such a horrible start to our trip in Venice and such a...

After arriving in Venice we stumbled upon this shop and stopped to get gelato for our hungry children (and ourselves). The prices are high as it is such a central and popular area, if you think of it like being in Waikiki in Hawaii you will understand the pricing. It was fairly crowded despite being a very rainy day. We had three bowls of gelato with two flavors (fior di latte/gianduia, menta/ciccolato, mango/Oreo), a beer, and a slice of chocolate cake. The beer also came with a serving of potato chips. Everything was good, the seat was nice despite the rain dumping on us at the end. The table service was competent and we had no complaints. We did not visit the bathroom so I cannot comment on its state. Also if it was very crowded I imagine it would not be relaxing. If you are willing to pay the prices it is a nice place to stop.

Type of place that gives Venice such a poor reputation.Terrible service. Terrible attitude & bad food. Time to wake up and understand that just because I'm not a man or scantily clad woman, I still have money to spend. Was told "nothing hot available" - asked for some crisps or olives with our drinks. Nothing arrived. And yet they continued to take orders for pizza and bring out crisps with drinks for other people. After pointing this out, I was allowed to order some bruschette - which was not nice. I was told in no uncertain terms that the kitchen was now closed and I couldn't order anything else (not that I'd want to). I also ordered a second glass of wine - which I am still waiting for!! Apparently in 200 years, no one has ever complained - suggested they read their reviews!
