The simplicity of good ingredients needs no elaborate introduction or enhancements. Yes, salt and pepper are on the table but you don’t need them. Olive oil and balsamic is enough for your salad, don’t ask for ranch, the fresh greens, tomatoes and carrots have such flavor, to drown them in dressing would be blasphemy!

Order Spagh Nero Di Seppia (cuttlefish ink spaghetti), I had it previously in Vegas, loved it, and decided whenever I get to Italy, that and a Negroni was going to be my first meal. I

I know seeing black pasta on a plate is a surprise to some, but take a chance and try it, the flavor is unlike any pasta sauce, I guarantee you. It has an earthen rich flavor, almost similar to chocolate but without sweetness, a light hint of the cuttle fish which is mild in flavor, and whatever herbs that were used in preparation. Simple, mild, yet full of flavor and delicious with perfectly cooked pasta. I added a small Insalata Mista (mixed salad) full of fresh greens, carrots, and tomatoes. The bread was already on the table with balsamic and oil!

I added nothing to my food, enjoyed it all as it was prepared!

Not ready to push your culinary limits, start off with something familiar, get the lasagna, try the fried calamari, but don’t you dare tell them how to prepare it and criticize when it doesn’t look exactly like you think it should because you are comparing it to food here. You are in Italy, they know what they are doing. No, it doesn’t need more salt, we use entirely too much here to disguise poor ingredients!

The Service My girl Monica was about the business of providing good service and making sure we had a wonderful experience! First and foremost, she taught me how to order my drink for lightweight drinkers, Pallino Campari! She told us that melon wasn't in season so they didn’t have any with the prosciutto, but made another suggestion that was superb. Monica had a great sense of humor and paid no attention to our antics, she just laughed and joined in! The attention to detail, simple explanations, suggestions and humor set the tone for my expectations at all future dining establishments.

This place is a joke. I’ve ordered a double espresso that was not on the menu and got charge 6 euros for it - 6 EUROS FOR A DOUBLE ESPRESSO!!! When I questioned it, the waiter said that a double is charged 2 x the single (I’ve never in my life had a double espresso charged twice the price of a single!!!). We also ordered an omelette which was 11 euros on the menu and asked for bacon and mushrooms to be added. We got charged an additional 5 euros on top of the 11 for the bacon and mushrooms - so 16 euros for an omelette. I wouldn’t mind that much if it was tasty but the food was very blunt. This place is ridiculously expensive and the food is not tasty, I’m giving it the 1 star because of the location.

REPLY TO OWNER: Don’t give me that attitude. The double espresso was not on the menu, only the single espresso was shown as €3. I’ve done some research on the delta cost between a double and a single and the norm average is +20% and the maximum I’ve come across is +50%. I don’t understand how you can justify charging 2 x €3 for a double espresso? Did the waiter do double the effort? Did you use two caps? Did you bring two jars of water? Did you serve two biscuits? Also, the additional charge for extra ingredients for the omelette was also NOT shown in the menu. Adding a bit of bacon and a couple of mushrooms can not...

I was so hungry that forgot to take pictures of the actual food. Good place for breakfast.

Food Quality: food was good and tasty.

Portions: Quantities quite decent for breakfast.

Drinks: the hot chocolate was amazing. It actually felt like it was a melted bar of dark chocolate. As it got colder you could feel the texture as it got thicker. Cappuccino is presented in a deconstructed way and you mix it yourself.

Price: maybe a bit on the pricey side for breakfast, especially the drinks, but quality was good so it is not a big problem. $$$ breakfast $$ other meals seemed around the mid-range and similar to other locations.

Service: very nice waiter and easy to talk to. Food and drinks came out fast. As it was quite early very few tables were taken.

Atmosphere: theres a beautiful little plaza just in front and the tables outside are a nice place to have a meal.

Highlights: good breakfast and nice to sit outside...

We visited Ristorante Le Café in Venice with a group of friends and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a light evening meal after a day of exploring the city. We ordered salads and pizzas, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The pizza had a perfect crispy crust and just the right amount of toppings, while the salads were light yet satisfying. It was exactly what we were looking for – simple, tasty food in a nice setting. Service was friendly and efficient, and the location is ideal for people-watching or just soaking in the Venetian vibe. One tip: during busy hours, especially in the evening, it’s a good idea to make a reservation, as the place can fill up quickly. Overall, we had a great time and can definitely recommend Le Café for anyone looking for a casual and delicious meal in Venice.
