Panini e Vini da Babbo — Restaurant in Venice

We had such a lovely experience here! Normally the breakfast menu doesn’t have many options without pork, but when we mentioned that we don’t eat ham, the waitress went out of her way to make us a special toast and panini — completely off the menu — just so we could enjoy our breakfast. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare, and it really made us feel welcome. We stopped at this little place for a morning snack. After some deliberation we decided to have one of their sharing platters.

This selection of nibbles is called "chicchetti" which is pretty much slices of different breads 🍞 topped with meats 🍖, cheese 🧀, fish 🐟 and some bits of veg.

The waitress was very friendly and approachable - giving us good recommendations and not trying to oversell.

We arrived just before 10am and were informed the full cicchetti board wouldn’t be available until evening, but we were still able to pick 4 cicchetti that were already out, and they tasted great! We also ordered a latte and a cappuccino, both of which were lovely.

The cozy atmosphere made it a relaxing spot to people watch. While I wish the full cicchetti board were available earlier, what we had was still delicious.
