Ristorante Dallo Zio Santa Margherita — Restaurant in Venice

Ludicrous tourist trap. Avoid at all costs. I have never been so compelled to review a restaurant, this has been the WORST experience I have ever had. They direct you to the so called 'SPECIALS' menu, nothing special about it as it is the same everyday! It's just a way to SCAM you as you don't notice the TINY PRINT in Italian that it's priced PER 100 GRAM. €50 for 600 grams of dry seabass-I was told that was a regular portion for ONE PERSON. The staff were RUDE and AGGRESSIVE and virtually shoved the SPECIALS menu down our throats. I ordered the seafood pasta and if you think the pricing is too good to be true, it probably is! That's because they CHARGE YOU PER 100 GRAM. I also noticed that most of the '5 star' reviews are probably FAKE- check out the profile of the reviewers- they seem to have only reviewed this place. My evening in Venice was completely spoilt by this unsavoury experience. I consider myself to be a fairly accommodating and reasonable person, this was the MOST UNETHICAL AND CROOKED EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD in a restaurant. Avoid this place like the plague, it will ruin...

Big disappointment. At the beginning waiters seemed to be nice, but they turned to rude and arrogant in 10 minutes. They pushed me order dish (I was OK with ordered beer and wanted just part of pizza from my husbend). They said I have to order - we have to order both (?!?) When I said I'm not so hungry to eat whole food, sended me to the bar in the neighboring bar (?!?) So we canceled also pizza and in 1 minute we had bill on table. We still had full glasses of bier, but after few minutes they came and told we have to leave and make the table free (?!?) So all they are interested is customer spending more money. At the end one of waiters almost yelled at my husband that he can not write review on their restaurant because it is not true (?!?) and that when he invited us to the table, we had to say we will have just one meal and he would say it is not possible... We are traveling half of year through Europe and this happend nowhere to us! They moved our great feeling from the evening and Venezia in general... We don't know about the foot, but service hi unprofessional and...

Food was good and the restaurant was nice, however we did not have the best experience dining here. We came to this restaurant as a young couple in our early 20s and seemed to be forgotten about by staff. Staff were very kind and well mannered when attending to us but unfortunately we seemed to be slightly forgotten about at times. We noticed that other diners were offered olive oil and parmesan and were also checked on very frequently, whereas we were not offered these and had to wait a long time after our plates had been cleared, while other customers that had arrived after us were being offered deserts and their bills (which we never ended up being offered). Eventually after sitting for about 40 minutes after having our plates cleared (other customers seemed to only need to wait about 10) we decided to just go up to the counter to pay while others had their bills taken to their tables. We were offered shots of Limoncello as other customers were after paying too but we politely declined and left. Good food but unfortunately not...
