We stopped by this restaurant after a recommendation from our friend , and was a good recommendation actually. It is one of must-visit restaurants in Venice. They are working even during the afternoon break (most of the restaurants close from 15:00 till 18:00, so if you want to eat an authentic meal and missed the lunch time you have to wait till they open again). The inside decoration is quite vintage and relaxing and the restaurant is in a lively area. The chef is so welcoming and friendly. Last time we had black risotto (risotto al nero di seppie). It wasn't written in the menu but the chef had no problem to make it on demand. The chef said that it would take him sometime to prepare, because he likes to serve his food freshly cooked and dose not like to cook it a night before and heat it up, like many restaurants do. Although this seemed like an old school way of cooking for me, but it was a night-and-day difference in taste. The quantity was fine. I do not know if the price is considered as high or not (I paid 38 for two risotto dishes and two soda drinks). I was totally satisfied with the food and the experience. Next time I'll go for a whole meal and drinks because I saw a nice display of seafood. Attached photo of the last dish...
Read moreI am giving a 5 star purely based on the main dish. I ordered the grilled sea bass and it is perfect. But I want to note their service sucks and the bread is terribly stale.
The grilled seabass is properly seasoned and fish skin is very crispy and not burned. Restaurants usually tend to burn grilled food especially when it comes to such delicate food. The chef at this restaurant is very skilled. I see other people ordered the grilled scampi and those look just as perfect.
However I do want to note that their service is subpar because they only have two waiter and one of them seems to be indifferent. And they didn’t even change the table cloth in between tables! I see bread crumbs left on the table from the last customer! How terrible!
Not to mention their bread is stale. I had one bite of the bread and spit it out.
The chef can definitely find a job in a better restaurant that actually match...
Read moreThe server was one of the rudest people I’ve ever interacted with. He was EXTREMELY clumsy, (he dropped a fork on my head!!) made fun of us for only ordering only one overpriced bottle of water and a small bottle of wine, and the servers were ARGUING for the majority of the “experience”. We asked for recommendations and he told us to look at the pictures on the menu and left. Portions were tiny and the whole family left hungry, insulted and IMMENSELY disappointed in our only full day in Venice. Not to mention, the food was the WORST tasting food we’ve had in our 2 week stay in Italy for the HIGHEST PRICE!! We had €1 slices of pizza that were much better than the $20-$30 seafood dishes :( DO NOT COME HERE🤮🤮🤮!! You’re better off eating at the Burger King...
