My husband and I stayed here in May, we had the worst experience ever! We were given the room right next to the lobby. As the receptionist was explaining to us how to open the door to our room, I noticed there was a huge gap at the bottom of the room door ( between door and floor) . I told the receptionist that the gap was an issue because of the noise and lack of privacy , especially since the entrance to our room was in the lobby. She assured me that there wouldn't be any noise after 8 PM because thats the time the lobby closed. I told her this room wouldn't work for us because of the lack of privacy ( anyone in the lobby would be able to hear us) and that we would like to stay in a different room. She proceeded to tell us that all rooms were booked and accounted for ( which was untrue because we were relatively early for check-in and we witnessed at least 3 other couples checking in). ||After expressing my dissatisfaction, I figured I would try to make the best of it and enjoy Venice; however when trying to turn the TV on-to check out the weather and distract myself a bit from the issues - the TV did not work at all, I went next door and complained about the TV not working. The receptionist said the TV had broken two weeks ago and it would be fixed in a couple of weeks ( not even a sorry!) . ||The bathroom was tiny, unclean, and we had to walk through an unfinished closet to get to it. ||At the end of the evening when my husband and I got back from a night out we realized there were only a few squares of toilet paper left in the bathroom, at that point the receptionist was gone and toilet paper was nowhere to be found. I looked all over our room and around the reception area, finally found a small toilet behind the reception area, so had to take a roll of toilet paper from there. Oh boy, we would have been in trouble the following morning without TP!|| We had to ask for packets of instant coffee every morning because that is all they provided in the room, and they only gave us one ( the day we got there). To top it off , we had to put the kettle in the floor to plug it in and use it!! There were no outlets on the counter. ||Our room was not cleaned. We were cold at night. It was raining and cold and we had no access to heat. When we complained, the attendant said no hotels in Venice had functioning heaters after May 1st. It was a rule. We had a cold couple of nights....brrrrr. ||Lastly, on checkout, we did speak to the manager, who assured us we would be refunded 100 Euros for all our troubles. He told us to e-mail him our bank account info and he would personally take care of the refund. We trusted him but didn't hear back or get a response to the e-mails I sent ( mind you, I had him confirm he received my e-mail before we left the lobby). When we got back to the States a week and a half later, I spoke to the manager again, he asked me to re-send my e-mail with bank info and he would refund us the 100 Euros. Nothing.....called again two weeks later, he hung up on me. Called again a few days later, asked me to send my bank info again (every time I called I had to explain the situation all over again)....nothing. Continued calling, last time we spoke, end of July, he promised I would see the refund that weekend, it never happened. I don't think he ever intended to refund the 100 Euros. Bad form for him to not make good on his promise. Oh boy, worst experience ever!! Avoid, avoid, avoid. ||It felt like we were camping in Venice! Not glamping,...

I booked this hotel via Tripadvisor for our first two nights in Venice. Hard to review this hotel since this isn't where we actually stayed. A couple weeks after booking and receiving a confirmation that we were all set, I received an email that the property (Locanda Ai Santi Apostoli) wanted to move us to a sister property with a larger room with 5 beds just a few minutes walk away with no other information about this sister property. I called the Tripadvisor help line and after a long conversation, explaining that I didn't want to move, that my wife and I didn't need a room for 5 people, etc, I was assured that we would still be staying at the original hotel. When we got to the hotel we were informed that we were not staying that, but our were moved to Lion Morosini Palace. I tried to explain the above, but it was to no avail and after an overnight flight, long boat ride to the city center and 15 minute walk with luggage. My wife and I just wanted a room so we could leave our luggage and proceed with our vacation. The room itself was like a gymnasium (picture a big rectangle with 20 foot ceilings) with two double beds and a twin bed. The bathroom was the opposite, the size of a closet with a bathtub/shower that was actually so small it was difficult to stand in. The room key was an old fashioned key that you inserted in an old fashioned, see through type keyhole. No deadbolt, no electronic key. Not exactly the most secure set up. The one upside of the room was a view between buildings and over a courtyard of the grand canal. Just to be clear, our time in Venice was amazing and we are hoping to go back. My disappointment is that we booked one hotel (after reading reviews, looking at maps and photos), which is where we checked in/out and actually looked a lot nicer than where we stayed, but were put in a different property with no recourse or offer of reimbursement, this after we were assured that we wouldn't be moved.||The staff at the hotel, Davide, Piumi and Antoinella were all very helpful...

Small hotel which has an apartment-type appearance, as it inhabits the third floor of a classic Venetian palace overlooking the Canale Grande. Like so many others in Venice, the building itself shows some signs of wear, but the hotel is in great shape. There are only about 10 or so rooms which are arranged around a central sitting area where also the nicely prepared breakfast (a buffet with small pieces of bread, croissants, scrambled/boiled eggs, cheese, Nutella and several variations of tasty coffee) is served. The pictures show the stunning outlook from this area (windows could be opened!). The true gem of the hotel is its stuff -- the people who served us during our stay were wonderful, super friendly (in an honest way, not the standard superficial one one usually encounter in chain hotels) and also truly trying to help us make the best out of our stay. I am not talking about a single person here, btw, but the whole team of 3 or 4, so it's obviously a culture thing. We truly felt very welcome!! The room itself (#7, with "partial view" on the Grand Canal) had a very nice atmosphere and was well maintained. The walls are soundproofed (you don't even here the breakfast chatter next to the room), the AC works quietly, and the cleaning/room service was effective (and invisible, like it should). Finally, I found the location to be ideal -- it's just a short stroll north-west of the Rialto bridge along the Canale Grande, and it's a great starting point for walks to essentially all parts of the main island of Venice (San Marco is 10-13 minutes away). Gondolas and water taxis are to be found very close, and the blue line water taxi from the airport stops some 6-8 minutes away from the hotel. So, that's the stuff 5 Google stars are made of. ;-).

To start I would like to say this hotel is a mixed bag. Though in a slight good way. The hotel is in a very lively part of town, it is a small walk away from pretty much every attraction and the view of the grand canal from the balcony justifies every dollar spent. The breakfast was also great, the server at the breakfast is wonderful, fast, and very friendly. (That guy deserves a raise). Now for the bad part. The wifi is the basically non existent at peak times and even at other times is very very mediocre, it is frustrating that it won’t even load a 360p video less any games. At times it doesn’t even show an internet connection at all. The rooms are great though a bit old fashioned, the A/C worked however didn’t cool the room to my desired level that said it is better than nothing and I will say that it is very bearable. And then there is the service at night, which is to say there is none. This part is to the hotel’s management. There is, at least from my understanding, no real way to talk to a hotel staff if you need anything at night. And if there is the staff should have informed us how to. Otherwise though the hotel is good.

We recently stayed at Locanda Ai Santi Apostoli Hotel in Venice for a couple of nights. Although the hotel is a bit tricky to find since it’s located on the 3rd floor, we weren’t sure what to expect. However, we were warmly and professionally welcomed upon check-in. Both of our rooms were fantastic—one offered a stunning view of the Grand Canal, and the other was a spacious apartment. Breakfast was a unique experience with a menu to choose from the night before, so instead of a buffet, we received a personally prepared meal the next morning. The menu featured a variety of tasty continental options, and the personal touch in serving made it even more special. The location is excellent, with great dining options just a minute away on the street. Being right beside the Grand Canal, the hotel is only a 15 to 20-minute walk from most of Venice’s main attractions. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again when we return to Venice.
