If you're coming to Venezia, and you don't come to this ristorante, you will miss the real flavor of this magical place! Luca and his staff are fantastic. I travel alone, and he greeted me at the door as if I was a good acquaintance, and in a genuinely friendly way. I had a very nice (couple of glasses of) Cabernet and my appetizer was so fresh: gambieri con olio e limone. The flavors were discrete, the preparation was perfect and frankly, how a real Venetian would prepare food for themselves. Not touristy at all! I was going to order the carbonara, but he said "oh no...you must try the linguine nero (squid ink). OMG - I don't believe I've eaten anything more savory, light and delicious than that dish! Beware, however - your teeth and mouth turn the same color, so wipe your lips after each bite and look at the napkin...you will see what I mean. I didn't have dessert but they have a lovely selection of homemade dolci, such as panna cotta, tiramisu and apple strudel. I loved it so much I went back a second night and it was just as spectacular: a nice bruschetta, very basic, and Tortellini con zucchini e Pecorino Romano. (There is another name for that but it escapes me). Light, flavorful and the Tortellini was like a pillow from Heaven! I believe this restaurant is like being invited into a native Venetians' home for dinner. Please go and tell them Jane from New...

I can’t believe I finally found this place! I went full FBI mode to figure out what this restaurant was called because my visit was so perfect last summer when I dined here (and I’m a fool for not taking a picture of the name of the restaurant) . I was on a big trip though Europe, and got to spend a couple of days in Venice. I dined here with my dad and my boyfriend, and the entire experience was just just SO perfect. The owner escorted us to the back garden, and he was SO welcoming and so sweet. He gave us an amazing sweet red wine recommendation and we drank 3 bottles during our stay! The food was PHENOMENAL! I couldn’t get over how rich and authentic everything tasted. The owner was consistently checking in on us and was such a pleasure to talk to!! He even picked a flower off the garden wall and gave it to me after we finished dinner. On my entire 3 week Europe vacation, my dining and overall experience at Trattoria Misericordia was my absolute favorite!! We drank, ate, talked, and laughed for nearly 3 hours. I can’t wait for the day I can come back to this wonderful restaurant and...

My family and I had the most wonderful meal at this classic, family-style and authentic restaurant! Everything was WONDERFUL. From the service to the food, this place did not miss one thing. Our server Luca was a delight. So charming and funny — definitely an added highlight to the meal. As for the food, we did not leave one crumb on the table. I really enjoyed the squid ink pasta and my parents LOVED their sea bass. My mom said it was the best she has ever had! Luca brought out the fish and then served it to my parents right at the table. Truly a beautiful presentation and experience. My brother ordered the 3 course dinner special — a pasta (penne con tonne), a side dish (calamari) and a salad (house salad). He loved and devoured every bite of his meal too. The calamari was outstanding and the pasta was flavorful and came out steaming out. Truly unbeatable! Thank you so much to Luca and the wonderful team at this restaurant, we will be sure to send all of our friends to you on their trips and visit again...

Great experience tonight! Was heading to a place recommended by a local, and it was closed...so we happened upon Misericordia! Had a variety of courses but we'll focus on my favorites! I would have never ordered this dish, but our host, server, bartender (jack & master of all trades) recommended the Cuttlefish in squid ink sauce! It was amazing! Picture looks blah, but the flavor was spot on! Then after dessert he recommended a digestif. My hubby went with the grappa which I quickly declined (I prefer no chest hair thanks!) And that's when "jack" recommended Amaro...wow! First time and won't be my last! We also took the wine recommendation that was from the region and we really enjoyed that as well! I am now feeling sad that I did not catch the name of our wonderful "jack" , but I am sure he will be there to greet you!
