I don’t know if it’s just how things are in Italy but mornings here makes everyone very stern and straightforward. The servers behind the bar only smiled with locals who knew them by name. Our cappuccinos and sandwich were plonked in front of us without words and I kept trying to also ask for another item and to pay but was ignored. We sat outside and watched the pedestrian traffic pass by which was lovely. When we finished I went inside again to try and pay and I was ignored in favor of the local clientele who were greeted effusively (which was actually nice to see... I enjoy when I am remembered by business owners/servers etc, but I would hate that other people were being completely ignored in my favor). It would have been very easy to leave without paying, I mean they never even looked at me so how would they ever remember me if I just walked away? I’m not that kind of person however and I had to eventually insist on paying since they had been ignoring the bills I had placed on the bar and my attempts to get their attention by saying “scuzi” and “per favor” to the bar tender. All said and done, service was fast but not great otherwise, cappuccinos were lukewarm and sandwiches...

At the 1st time, a guy worked here made us pay for more than 20 euro for 2 brioche, 2 spremuta and 2 cappuccino. When I get the receipt, 1 brioche costs 2 euro, one spremuta costa 4.5 euro and one cappuccino 4.5 euro as well.
Well I guessed in Venice things cost more than usual. Ok accepted.
But when I went there the next day and asked for the same brioche, a lady served me and told me 1 euro each. Oh, well... yesterday the guy doubled all the price for us🙂🙂🙂
The food is not bad. But everyone be careful about this pricing...

The staff is relaxed, almost detached from the stress-inducing crowds waiting to order. It's very italian, so you need to be patient.
The coffee is quite good, better than in many other palces around (and no, good coffee is not a given everywhere in Italy).
It's quite crowded especially on the tiny terrace where you'll have to be very lucky to get a table during peak hours. But then again, so is the whole island.
Take a break here and enjoy the many, many tasty snacks you'll find here. The orices are fine considering...
