We arrived to Corniglia fairly late after a hot 12 hour day on our motorcycles. Late enough that the restaurants had closed. We were very tired, thirsty and hungry. I found La Scuna on Google and it looked like a nice place. We walked in and got served right away by the young and friendly bar tender with another that helped us later on. The wine and beer were both excellent. We asked about food but he mentioned that it was usually too late for food but that he would make us up something. We watched as he sliced up fresh meats, cheeses, tomatoes, and bread and served it to us on a huge wooden plank. It was amazingly good and enough that two served 6 of us. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed with music playing, locals filtering in and out while we were there, all of them friendly and happy, and the local wine recommendations were so good that we bought an extra bottle to take back to our apartment with us. I hope the two men that were working that night see this review. They made our evening very enjoyable and our first experience in Corniglia unforgettable. Thank you.

We meant to go to another cafe for dinner but La Scuna was the only place in the whole village open this early in the season. We were one of the only people there, and got had a spot with an incredible view of the sea. Our meal ended up being absolutely fantastic. The different types of spritzes, pesto focaccia, and anchovies with butter and olive oil were all amazing. It felt like a true array of local cuisine.

After a climb of 30 min. we were very tired and thirsty! - the wine tasting was ok (1/2 glass of white, rose and red), the bread with green pesto was good and the small olives were very tasty. - the prosecco rose was good and the limoncello was quite sweet and strong but less sweet than the one’s we tasted before. All this with a nice sea view and respect for the waiter doing his steps! 🤩

My wife and I ate here for cocktails and beer around 5pm and it was incredible. The server was so kind and helpful and the food and views were great! So great that we came back again the same night around 8pm. Unfortunately I’ve never been treated so poorly. Both of the servers were extremely rude. When he finally stopped ignoring us he walked away from me mid order (literally mid sentence just walked away) and refused to take our order again, and it was so bad we left… we really wanted to get more food and drinks there but this was the rudest service I’ve experienced which is sad because we loved it the first time. He lost you a lot of money tonight...

I'm putting 2 stars because the view is beautiful and the drinks are good. The food was ok even if a tad on the expensive side. The reason i'm leaving a low review is that the waiter tried to bump our bill not once, but twice ! The first time, we were brought a 72€ bill with 3 extra items that we did not eat added on it. We sent it back and got a new bill for ~60€, with one extra item on it. Only when sending it back again did we get a bill with what we actually ordered and ate on it, for 52€. Bumping the price by 25€ as a tourist tax is an unacceptable business practice. Just get there for a drink and make sure to...
