I was looking forward to this place after a recommendation and I have to say I enjoyed the food very much! (Ordered the tortellini with salciccia cooked in amarone) the food was on par with the recommendation and the restaurant was really nicely done with a cozy local feel. This would have been a five star review but unfortunately the waiter got changed and the new fella decided to give me the tourist experience. The previous waiter really took his time and was hospitable. The new waiter treated me like just another tourist to feed and get rid of as quickly as possible. I asked to order wine and he didn’t bring me the wine menu. He came over and said get the Amarone it’s the most expensive one so it’s good. I asked what others were there and he said “just get the Amarone it’s good” I decided to go with it. He came with a magnum bottle and poured me some without asking me if I wanted to taste it. The wine was over aerated possibly because the big bottled used was open for over a day and he didn’t care to ask me how it was. I would recommend going here as the food is great and I’m sure the wine of served correctly would be great too but I believe I was just unlucky with timing...
Read moreIt's a nice enough restaurant, but a bit odd in some ways. Everything is ordered on an iPad which seems a bit weird, and means you don't get a really nice experience with the waiters/waitresses.
The Tortelli Amarone is quite simply the best pasta I have ever had - 10/10 The Bigoli Carbonara, I have had better - 7/10 The Pollo Alla Griglia, likewise - 7/10 The Fiorentina steak was very nice and well presented - 9/10 The Patate al forno was a disgrace to potatoes, better to have left them in the ground - 1/10
When spending €140 on a meal for 2, I resent, having already paid a €5 cover charge to also have to pay €2.90 for some tap water in a dirty bottle... And another thing that was odd was that they took our cutlery from our starters and just put them back on the table (and in my case, the waitress put them on the iPad cover which made it messy) so we went from knives and forks we used on pasta to eating steak. Weird when we have paid a €5 cover charge, what does that "cover"?
A nice place but let down by poor service and strange commercial decisions, and...
Read moremy worst food experience in Italy so far. First impression was good, cozy place and friendly staff. That then changed when I got my food. Ordered a schnitzel, which on the menu had a dressing or mayonnaise with it. When I discovered that nothing came with it, despite all the other meat dishes that had various side dishes, I was a little disappointed. But I thought that must mean that the schnitzel was probably juicy and tender. It turned out to be the exact opposite. It was very dry, and I kept hoping that they suddenly realized they had forgotten the dressing or whatever it was supposed to be. When I then calmly express my dissatisfaction, I am told that they are sorry that I did not like the dish. As if it had to be my taste buds that had something wrong with it. Before I go, I ask if it is really okay to pay 20 euros for such dry meat without any accessories. And I'm just told again that they're sorry I didn't...
