Verona, Italy is particularly beautiful and romantic, with a Roman flavour and is the home of Romeo and Juliet! We must mention the oldest restaurant in the city, Torcolo, founded in 1895 and now 120 years old! One of the musicians invited to the festival, it is the number one Italian restaurant in the region and one of the oldest restaurants in town! The restaurant is not only known for its food and service, but also for its unique décor and atmosphere. For example, the cutlery and glasses used in the restaurant are from famous brands such as Versace and Dior, and the waiters are all handsome men, which adds to the charm of the restaurant1. Overall, Torcolo is a long-established restaurant in Verona with an excellent reputation! Special Clam Cream Pasta and Meat Platter, thought these two dishes were excellent. The creamy pasta with clams and the spices were tangy and spicy, and the meat platter had beef tendon, tongue, and sausage that were very tender and tasty in the special sauce. There is also the bollito misto, a Toscana speciality, which I didn't expect to find in the Veneto region. The beef tendon, the tongue and the sausage were all crispy and tender, dipped in a special sauce! Very much looking...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went here on a recommendation from a colleague. Honestly did not disappoint. I had the truffle pappardelle and my boyfriend the risotto. Both were fantastic and the best of each dish we’d ever tried — and my boyfriend is an avid foodie. As mentioned before, the truffle pasta not only comes with truffle in the sauce and some on top, but the waiter came with a Louis Vuitton box full of truffle and grated fresh truffle on top. We didn’t realize that the plates were Versace until we got home and looked at other reviews, but the water glasses are also Dior — not that it matters or makes a difference. But for the presentation and food quality we found the restaurant to be totally fair, and unpretentious. We also received a fresh bread basket, a small sample of mashed potatoes with bacon, and a small dessert tray at the end of the meal. Overall would recommend. The presentation has nothing to do with the quality of the food so if you’re turned off by the gaudy approach, still give this restaurant a chance. Our waiter was also so kind and attentive!...
Read moreThe restaurant is more expensive but the value/quantity for money is still reasonable. It's located in a little side streed close to the arena and has a nice atmosphere. There are also tables inside but I would recommend sitting outside. The food is absolutly delicious and very plentiful. I enjoyed tagliatelle with truffles and they melted in my mouth. Additionally, you receive some bisquits after the meal, as a curtesy of the kitchen. Their wine menu is extensive, if you don't mind spending a lot, but you can order glasses of wine as well (which makes it cheaper). My only issue with this restaurant: the staff is not fit to work at an upper-level restaurant. They don't speak english for the most part, are slow in taking orders or taking the empty plates, forget things or mix up orders. And I waited 20 minutes (with asking for the bill twice) only to get an incorrect one. I read a review which said "they try to be something they are not" and I agree. They want to be a high-class restaurant but they are...
