Gordie's — Restaurant in Chatan

First thing: Food is amazing.

When we got there around 3:30 pm, the staff were taking some kind of break. So we waited… we waited quite and bit - and since I don’t speak or read Japanese I had no idea how long they were going to make us wait. But we did wait. I nearly left as I was getting frustrated.

But then they called us in, and they politely insisted we come to the front of the line to come in (there was a line waiting to get in by that time). Super nice staff.

It was all worth the wait.

I loved the decor. Very retro, and the music brought back a lot of my American memories from the 1980s, back when I was just a kid my son’s age now.

Then the food came.

I’m not kidding. That was probably the best hamburger I have had in my entire life. I think it was cooked on charcoal.

Highly, highly recommended. And they have onion rings and ice cream sundaes and banana splits that I would wager are pretty...

We were so excited to go to this place and sadly we were disappointed! We received our combos and everything looked delicious I tasted the onion rings first and they were very good. My daughter was the first to bite the burger and her expression told us everything, when I bit into it I understood her disapproval. I don’t know what kind of meat they use but it is chewy and it smells awful. There were so many fatty chewy parts that I couldn’t eat it, I had to discard various pieces while attempting to eat this burger. Finally I gave up half way through and decided to take it home to my dog (which he doesn’t even deserve such poor quality). The finally insult was the bill, we paid over 6,000 yen because we all had combos. We do not recommend this establishment, the sides are good(onion rings and fries) but not...

北谷でハンバーガー行くならゴーディーズと後輩に推されていて、本日ようやく行くことができました‼️

国道58号を北上し、アメリカンビレッジとかの辺りを越えてイメージ的には嘉手納基地を海側に入った感じです(o^^o) 駐車場無いかなー？と思いましたが、お店の手前にしっかりとありましたd(^_^o)

古い木の小屋みたいな店構えで内装心配していましたが、そんな必要一切ありませんでした(^◇^;) アメリカンでカジュアルな装いで、どこかオールドアメリカを思わせる素敵な店内✨ 雰囲気ありますねー(・∀・)

そんなゴーディーズは、メニューの表記が独特で入っている物が書いてあります。 チリチーズバーガーsingle(¥1,430)を頼んだのですが、レタス・オニオン・チーズ・マヨ・チリソースだけの表記でシンプルisベストでしたね(・∀・) ちなみに、single(単品)にはピクルスとポテトが付いてきます☆ 米軍基地が近いからなんでしょうかね？

そして、ハンバーガーが到着‼️ まずはピクルスからいってみました☆ ピクルス食べ応えがあって美味しい✨ これはいいですね(((o(ﾟ▽ﾟ)o)))

次は皿の空いているスペースにケチャップとマスタードを出して、ポテトを食べます！ 細いポテトじゃないので、じゃがいもの旨みを味わえますね

そして、本日のメインイベント！ チリチーズバーガーを食べます✨ …。 美味いっ‼️ 肉が美味すぎる(о´∀`о) 今まで食べたハンバーガーの中で1番美味しかったですね(((o(ﾟ▽ﾟ)o))) そして何より、チーズとチリソースが合いまくりです☆ これには衝撃を受けたし、また来たいお店がまた１つ増えました(ﾟ▽ﾟ) 沖縄来た時には、また行ってみようと思います✨

ってなわけで、 ゴーディーズ、大変満足で美味しかったです‼️ ご馳走さまでした(´꒳`)

If I was going to go for a burger in Chatan, Gordy's and my juniors recommended it, and I was finally able to go there today! ️

Heading north on National Route 58, passing around American Village, it looks like Kadena Air Base on the sea side (o^^o) Isn't there a parking lot? I thought so, but it was right in front of the store d(^_^o)

I was worried about the interior design as it looks like an old wooden hut, but there was no need to do so (^◇^;) A wonderful interior that reminds you of old America, with casual American attire. It has a great atmosphere (・∀・)

Gordy's has a unique menu that says what's included. I ordered a single chili cheeseburger (¥1,430), and it was simple, with only lettuce, onion, cheese, mayo, and chili sauce (・∀・) By the way, the single comes with pickles and potatoes☆ Maybe it's because it's close to a US military base?

And then the hamburger arrived!! ️ First, I tried pickles☆ Pickles are filling and delicious✨ This is nice (((o(ﾟ▽ﾟ)o)))

Next, put ketchup and mustard on the empty space on your plate and eat the potatoes! It's not a thin potato, so you can enjoy the flavor of the potato.

And today's main event! I'm eating a chili cheeseburger ✨ …. It’s delicious! ️ The meat is too delicious (о´∀`о) It was the most delicious hamburger I've ever eaten (((o(ﾟ▽ﾟ)o))) And best of all, the cheese and chili sauce go really well together ☆ I was shocked by this, and now there is one more store I want to visit again (ﾟ▽ﾟ) When I come to Okinawa, I'm thinking of going again ✨
