Kaisen Batten — Restaurant in Chatan

Another great experience here. Immediately seated and got English menus. Order by QR Code, though it claims to have English as an option on the online order system but most of it's still in Japanese.

Had the large lobster with uni sauce set meal, sashimi platter and gurukun karaage. The last is a meaty fish, deep fried so thoroughly that you can eat everything from head-to-toe.

Lobster was in half, meaty & sweet with a great uni sauce.

Sashimi was fresh & tasty.

We love to drink the lemon sours.

The only thing we didn't enjoy, was the Chinese tourists talking really...

Went to two seafood restaurants during our stay in Chatan - Kaisen Batten and Kaisen Chaya Sabani. I would patronise Kaisen Batten for the tempura - the batter was light and not too oily, and the tempura items were interesting and of good quality. I would have liked to eat them again! The broiled items were quite nice too. The sashimi was a bit tough, sadly. For better sashimi, go to Kaisen Chaya Sabani. Kaisen Batten was a little crowded and we had to wait about 10-15min to get a seat on a rainy Friday night, so perhaps it would be good to make reservations if...

A surprise find, as we were looking for another Japanese seafood restaurant that was closed for Xmas Eve. Fantastic food, good and fast service (set meals were served in less than twenty minutes).
