Another good stop to eat in Okinawa. Yes, it caters to American palettes but there is no problem with the flavors of the food at this place. Steak, ramen noodles, and beer. That is a great combination. Ordered the spicy steak and noodles, spicy steak ramen bowl, chicken and noodles, gyoza, cheese gyoza, and cucumbers/bean sprouts.
Spicy steak w/noodles - this is a winner. Went with 2 on heat level and the combination of the steak and spicy noodles went together well. I added a little vinegar to the dish and that complimented the steak well (its not salted).
Spicy steak ramen - good dish but the broth lacked a little depth in flavor. Still very good dish but the noodle version had more pronounced flavors.
Chicken and noodles - this was a kid favorite. Karage style chicken with ramen style noodles. Easily a simple yet good dish.
Gyoza - these were good, nothing special to set them apart from other gyoza at other restaurants.
Cheese gyoza - stick with the regular gyoza. This was cheese and marinara sauce on top of the regular gyoza. It just didn’t work and may have been added for the American visitors???
Spicy cucumbers and bean sprouts (combo) - this is one of my favorite items ordered. Fresh and bright flavors that everyone enjoyed at the table. It’s a bit salty, a bit spicy, and a really nice appetizer to start off your meal. I highly recommend.
If you miss the main seating, the wait for a table may be long. Everything is made to order so if the kitchen gets a lot of orders at once, you get stuck in the queue. Service was still very good and once the kitchen gets food moving and can catch up, the food comes out quickly. Just consider the crowds when you go to place orders or decide if it’s worth...
Read moreI’ve never felt so disappointed in a restaurant in my life — not just because the food has changed, but because this place meant something to me.
I never even told people about this spot because it felt like mine. It was my hidden gem, my go-to place for comfort and celebration. I came here with my mom, with friends, and most importantly, I shared it with my husband — when we were dating, when we got engaged, after we got married, and even during our honeymoon. That’s how special this place was to us.
But something changed. The broth flavor I loved — whatever it was — is completely gone. Now it’s full of things I never asked for like kimchi and egg. I just wanted the steak and that unforgettable soup. And don’t get me started on the gyoza — what happened to the cheese gyoza with salsa? That was a staple! Now it’s just plain and dull, like everything else here.
I understand wanting to appeal to different customers, but the shift feels like it’s trying too hard to cater to American taste buds — and I am American. But I didn’t come here for that. I came here for something unique, something bold, something that didn’t taste like everywhere else.
Even my husband — who’s usually more easygoing about food — said, “What happened?”
This place used to feel full of soul and flavor. Now it just feels like a shell of what it once was. Please, bring back the magic. You had something...
Read moreThe gyoza is AMAZING-- recommend adding to your order!! Even after a car ride to go home it was still hot and crispy! The ramen was good. The portions were good for price. There was plenty of steak on top. Not my top 3 places but I don't regret trying it. The egg was delicious in it but costs an extra yen. I would prefer some veggies or green and you can only pick 2 toppings on each ramen. If someone wanted to grab dinner I would say no, but I wouldn't be the one recommending it kinda stand. The parking lot here is so annoying. There are these piles leading like a drive wwy but makes parking a pain. If its crowded I can't even imagine the annoyance as the poles make it difficult to rotate and only 1 car fits in the "driveway." Place takes credit card/ yen. Staff spoke...
