Greetings Googlers, today I bring a twist to the traditional yakiniku places you may have visited around the area. I came here to experience the Hawaiian twist which turned out to be a great experience. The staff was helpful and quick to respond. The food was delicious. Diving into that my family decided to try a little bit of everything and so without further or do let’s start it off with the Hawaiian twist. This place has poke bowls. The garlic soy sauce and Hawaiian spicy bowls were vibrant and tasty. The açai bowls we ordered were the mini bowls for the kiddos which they enjoyed. The yakiniku meats they offered were various wagyu styles along with selections of Hawaiian cuts. I love wagyu and stuck primarily with that however we did try a few of the other cuts and enjoyed them as well. They do have kids plates here so if you are having trouble looking for them it’s listed under the (1) Items tab on the table you order from. I’d recommend they change the tab to list kids options to help make it easier to find and perhaps expand the options. The kiddo didn’t care for the chicken which is rare since chicken is always a win but perhaps it’s the breading. For the sides the garlic shrimp fries really had the garlic kick we like. The egg drop soup was delish. Little note here if you order it the bowl was a bit on the family size so we split it among those at the table and grateful they provided bowls to help with that. In all great place one of my new favorites...
Read moreNewly opened in December, this is a great place for those craving poke bowls, or mochiko chicken...or both! Park under the establishment (covered parking!) and take the stairs to the second floor. Spacious place, choice of indoor seating or a very nice outdoor patio area. Like a lot of Japanese places they take a break between lunch and dinner service (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
Menu in both Japanese and English, makes it easy. Order through their tablets so there's no struggling with language.
Decor is very Hawaiian, with surf and beach themes. They even serve a selection of Kona Brewing Company beers!
I got the combination poke/chicken. It came with a bowl of poke on a bed of rice, with your choice of poke seasoning. On the side was 3 pieces of juicy, crispy mochiko chicken fried nicely. The poke was fresh and the chicken flavorful. There was a lot of food for the money, but if you're really hungry you can order extra toppings such as a fried egg, avocado, kim chi.
My partner got the Hawaiian Breakfast with bacon, eggs, and pancake. She got extra avocado slices.
Must return for dinner, which seems like a completely different vibe with the yakiniku...
