We went there for dinner and was pleasantly surprised with hearty delicious meals. There was one female server who didn't miss a beat and kept moving at steady pace making sure everyone had what they needed. While we didn't speak Japanese, the menus had pictures and she was patient as we tried to clarify a few things. But the game changer was.... When we headed outside, it had started raining and of course, we did not have an umbrella. While we stood out in the rain waiting for a cab the same lady, who served us at the tables, came out with an umbrella saying, 'complimentary for you. Stay dry.' I was so impressed that she noticed us standing out in the dark rainy night and cared enough to bring out an umbrella. I had every intention of bringing the umbrella back but unfortunately ran out of time so I left it with the hotel front desk asking them to make sure to give it to next person that needed an umbrella. Read moreAmazingly delicious steak!
I had the Premium fillet steak [called "special" on the menu though! Medium rare] and my partner had the beef cheek and tongue stew. The meat was cooked to perfection. Melt in your mouth and absolutely scrumptious. We also had the onion soup and it was soooo flavourful and delicious we nearly ordered more! The cheese plate starter was average (only one type of cheese, couple of types of crackers and a little bit of salami) but still tasted good and worked as a nice start off to the meal. Wish there were two or three different cheeses though. Yes, there is plastic on the tables which doesn't look the best... But who cares when the food is this delicious?!?!!! Staff were ok, and there is an English menu (some questionable translations, but good enough to order correctly). The photo of empty (and practically cleaned!) plates should speak for itself. We were so hungry and enjoying it so much that we didn't take any...
Read moreWhen I greeted the waitress sheresponded with a flat “no.”Unfortunately, I’ve read of this rude treatment from other posts. Just stick on a sign on the door that says “full .”This restaurant gets a constant flow of customers because it’s next to my hotel which has over 200 units, so no end to customers I guess. However, as a forewarning you might not be treated in a hospitable fashion. If you go up the block and turn left, there is quite a few restaurants to choose from in a supermarket as well.
The restaurant was half empty today but I decided to walk right past it because I don’t want to be supporting such an establishment. It’s pretty clear that the owner lives upstairs so it’s a mom...
