Reasonable price. Good location (between Kawaguchiko Station and Lake Kawaguchi) - walkable to both (about 5-10min to the lake and 15-20min to the station), also near the various bus stops [using the 2day pass: Red and Green bus routes]. Room was reasonable size. I was pleasantly surprised by the bed. It was a proper sized double (almost a queen size) which was great - most business hotels etc only have semi-double beds which are ok for a solo traveller, but too small for two full sized adults. My room was "Lake View" but you couldn't actually see the lake from the hotel! Other buildings are in the way. You can see a bit of it from the roof terrace though. The other side was "mountain view" and, although I can't say for certain, I'm pretty sure you can see Mt. Fuji from those rooms. The room isn't cleaned daily, but they will give you a schedule about how and when they clean (for Eco reasons). You can most likely get them to clean etc every day if you want that though. They will provide complimentary water each day of your stay if you don't get the cleaning. If you need anything, just ask. The staff are friendly and will do their best to help you. English isn't amazing, but enough to help with basic requests. The breakfast, however, isn't that good. It's trying to be western buffet style (to appeal to westerns) but doesn't fully succeed. Usual things like: toast with butter/jams, scrambled eggs (very greasy), bacon (not really cooked well enough), small pork sausages (hot dog like ones), yakisoba noodles (maybe to appeal to the Asian customers?!?), salad, and drinks (coffee, orange juice, milk, green tea, water). No black tea (English breakfast tea like product) which was a little annoying... So we bought some tea bags from a supermarket and used those with the hot water and milk provided at the buffet. :-) If you want a lie-in and/or save money by not choosing it: do it. You really won't be missing out. Perhaps a little harsh because it was edible, but it really...
Read moreCame by during the coldest winter in Japan for years and was at first worried about the snow storm as our cars are not fitted with snow tires, so I decided to call up the hotel. On hand to assist is a very nice and kind lady by the name of Zora who tried to go all out to assist and though we asked if we can cancel the stay with no cancellation fees, she mentioned it was tough due to regulations from the booking website.||Nevertheless she took efforts to keep me posted of the conditions in Kawaguchiko prior to our arrival and we finally made our trip there. The hotel is clean and new as it opened almost 2.5 years ago hence was dealt with the Covid pandemic and it was not easy for them to survive. The hotel has several Mandarin speaking staff and check in is only after 3 pm hence when we arrived the counter was empty and waited for a while for a Mandarin speaking Japanese to come over to assist, very helpful with suggestions but again they didn’t allow us to amend our stay due to the upcoming snow storm. In the end we decided to forfeit our 2nd night stay due to the fact we do not have snow tire and this is where I felt the hotel can be a bit more flexible by offering a discount.||The rooms we were given is huge and spacious , as mentioned by Zora with a good view of Mount Fuji, however the view changes just the next day hence we are lucky to have a wonderful view of Mount Fuji from the room .||Overall the stay was very good as staff are very helpful, multi lingual staff with one of the guy from Taiwan being able to speak Mandarin , English , Cantonese , Korean and of course Japanese. Breakfast is simple but...
