We spent 30 minutes waiting with the owner constantly worried about us parking next door at the small hotel. The hotel owner came out and asked us to love the car originally, which we were about to oblige, but then he saw my wife and toddler and said that it was no problem and that we could park there.
The owner of this ramen shop was overly concerned with us parking there (I can only assume any previous drama he may have had before) and spent more time trying to check with the owner of the hotel than he was at making food. We were told of a 30min wait.
To avoid the drama, I went back and moved the car to another appropriate car location because I was less concerned on where my car was and more concerned about feeding my family considering it was already late lunch and we'd been waiting a considerable amount of time (about 40minutes in line at this point with only 4 people ahead of us).
After I had done this we were sent back to our cars to wait even longer. After about another 40minutes it was time to leave.
We are accustomed to waiting for food, we expect it, and then some. But this was ridiculous. The owner would benefit from focusing on cooking than on things that are...
Read moreCute ramen operation out of a food truck in a parking lot. There is covered seating under a plastic tarp in said parking lot. There is 1 chef preparing all food and 1 server taking orders and maintaining the seated area. We arrived earlier than a usual lunch hour and only had to wait 20 minutes for a table, but a queue filled quickly and we saw other hopeful guests be told to expect a wait 40-50 mins. If you drive a car, it's a simple wait to put your name in line and wait in your car, but less simple if it's raining or hot out as there is really no space under the covered area to wait. The staff try to be very considerate of this and can speak some English, but it's a small operation so be patient.
The food itself was amazing for a rainy day! We were charmed by the casual setup and the ramen was tasty! They had no eggs today but we were happy anyway. My partner got the #4 pork ramen and raved about the broth and pork slice that is thin but flavourful. I got the #5 shrimp ramen that had a deep shrimp flavour (also came with pork slice) that wasn't oily or heavy.
Cash only! Do not sit down first. Queue up and check how long, as there may be people in line ahead of you waiting in...
Read moreHad dinner n lunch, ate twice at this little place.
It's at a corner of a road intersection. The kitchen is a small truck and dining is in a small white tentage or two tables outdoor. I like the atmosphere.
Dinner time is only up till 7pm. Opens 11.30am. When we were there, the queue time was 35 mins. Perhaps due to still covid restrictions, a table of 4 could only sit those from the same group. Wasting a lot of seats. So even if one person came, she would hv the whole table.
Food here is not a lot of variety. Which is also good becoz they only cook their specialty. Basically all are ramen or noodles.
Their broth is well cooked n tasteful. Solid flavours. I tried the lobster broth and it blew me away. Very rich though.... . Noodles is springy and hv a good texture.
The staff also remind you that they do not serve water. And you can bring your drinks or order coke or beer from them.
Staff there can speak some English, so no problems when ordering food.
Price wise, reasonable. For this kind of food, I.e. a piping hot bowl of delicious noodles, I feel its perfect, especially on a cold day.
So if you around Mt Fuji, check this...
