Cafe Restaurant Gusto (ガスト 河口湖店) was such a fun and adorable diner style experience! It’s a Japanese family restaurant with a super cute and cozy vibe. Everything on the menu is in Japanese, so I highly recommend downloading the Google Translate app it really helps when ordering! The kids menu was great! It came with a noodle soup, two pieces of chicken, French fries, edamame, and three little jelly desserts. Plus, just like a Happy Meal, kids get to pick a cute little puzzle such a fun touch! I had the chicken thighs with garlic and tomato sauce, and it was really tasty. We also tried the Margherita pizza, which was pretty good as well. One of the highlights was the little robot servers that roll over and bring your food to the table it was so cute and fun to watch, especially for the kids! ordered their seared dry-cured ham & 5 kinds of mushroom pasta and it was amazing - the cream sauce really had been infused with the aroma of mushrooms and the portion of pasta was just right - and cooked well too!

tried their corn soup and it was amazing too - the corn flavour stood out most without overpowering your taste buds.

ordered a seafood pizza for sharing and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the thin crust was. crispy but still had a bite to it, and the pizza toppings really had a mixture of squid, prawns and clams with seafoody taste and aroma.

Honestly it is not easy to find good food with a decent price here in Kawaguchiko. We went here for dinner and it was great! I ordered the original Karaage with rice and changed my soup to pork soup and only had to add an extra 150yen. It was totally worth it. The chicken was super crispy and yet so juicy inside.. the soup was good too! I love the robot cat who serves us. Food came so quickly and it was still hot! My husband had the eel with rice which was good too! He loves the unlimited soft drinks there since they have the unusual flavour there. Def recommended.
