Read moreDuring my trip to Fukuoka, my partner and I had the most wonderful experience at this bakery. First off, the baked goods are absolutely delicious and top tier. I strongly recommend the butter-anko bread, and was pleasantly surprised by how subtle and complementary the matcha was with the melon flavor in the melon pan.
But the real selling point of this bakery is the customer service. On our first visit, my partner accidentally over-toasted her croissant. No problem, she was happy to eat it anyways. The staff noticed that her croissant was slightly burnt, and immediately brought her a freshly baked one to replace.
Given this customer service, we wanted to go back as a "thank you" for such a kind gesture. The next morning, my partner got the last chocolate cream donut. It was slightly over-filled so it was leaking out the side--again, this was a non-issue and she was happy to get the last donut. The staff would not let her eat this donut, and asked her to wait as they quickly brought out one from the fresh batch they were baking!
