18:00-Ends when mackerel runs out
Closed on
Sundays (open on Sundays if Monday is a national holiday)
I've always been curious about Kiharu.
It's a famous mackerel shopð
They apparently deliver mackerel caught that morning from the Goto Islands on the same day.
When you make a reservation by phone, you will be asked if you want to order the 3-kind platter.
The 3-item platter isð¡ â Swimming mackerel sashimi â¡ Grilled mackerel sashimi ⢠Sesame mackerel âšâš
It's great that you can eat a little at a time if you're eating aloneâºïž
The texture of the swimming mackerel sashimi was my first experienceð It's so lively!
I think it's a unique dish that conveys freshness.
I think my favorite is the sesame mackerelð
And the thing that caught my eye the most that day was the "live-killed conger eel sashimi". The beautiful pink visual was shocking, so I chose it for the first photoðž
First of all, you can eat conger eel rawð³âŒ ïž It has a slight bone texture, but it has a springy texture and a beautiful taste.
All of these tastes are only fresh if they're eaten. I think I'm going to be addicted to itð
For some reason, the mackerel croquette didn't taste like mackerel at all. Why? ð
The sake I drank that day was recommended by the owner, Mr. Saito ð¶ð€² The conversation was fun, so I'll come back again ð
The menu I had
Appetizer ? yen 3 kinds of mackerel ? yen Live-killed conger eel sashimi from Tsushima 1,500 yen Half mackerel croquette 325 yen Sake glass ? yen x 2
Total 6,350 yen
I shared one of the chicken livers boiled in low-temperature oil for 700 yen with...
Read moreThis place is straight up racist. Denies reservation if you're not Japanese. But I wouldn't have ranted here if it was just that.
The owner could've at least told me right away that they only accept Japanese. But instead on the first call when I mentioned I wasn't Japanese, he first acted like the phone connection was bad, making me waste a few minutes trying to get ahold of him.
Then when I called again, he said he doesn't have any seats left for this month or even the next month. On the first call up to where I said I wasn't Japanese he was definitely trying to book me a seat, so that's also a lie.
I understand that there can be such policies. Their restaurant, their rules. But they can at least make that point clear without lying so people don't waste time calling and not...
Read moreMackerel is the main izakaya. It is a restaurant with excellent fish aging and management, and mackerel dishes are considered one of the best restaurants in Fukuoka. Besides raw fish, various roasts and salads are also beautiful. Compared to other dishes, fried food is faithful to the basics. I'm sure it will be a satisfying time if you choose the menu in big letters on the menu or ask the owner, the main chef. It was a delicious dinner. If you don't make a reservation, make sure to make a reservation, knowing that it's a difficult restaurant to visit in the evening. Customers who don't speak Japanese may feel a little uncomfortable, but it's a...
