Jango — Restaurant in Hikone

No matter how delicious the rice and fish are in Japan, sometimes you just need a good burger and beer after climbing a hundred steps to the top of a castle keep.

The burger I had was fresh. I sat at the bar and the grill is literally on the other side. You can watch the guy grill your patty, the fried egg, the thick slice of bacon and even the buns. The veggies we're probably bought that morning with how crisp they we're. It was probably the best burger I've had in quite some time.

The only thing I will warn people about is they are not foreign friendly. Their menu is completely in Japanese and I don't think they speak a lick of English. If you can read Japanese and speak the language don't worry, otherwise be ready for a rough time ordering. I don't know if I will ever be in area again but if I am, I will definitely be...

Great place for a good hand made burger. I visited Hikone last year but Sun burger was closed for the week. Glad that I got try their burger this time round. Their burgers are made to order, and you can customized with add ones e.g.egg, peppers etc. I love the soft bun they use, fluffy and soft like a milk bun. Finish your meal with the crepe and you can only dine in if you are having it as a dessert after your meal. Otherwise their crepes are only for takeaway. Really good made with fresh cream. The guy and the lady are really friendly and attentive. She guessed I didn't read Japanese and offered an English menu (probably the only English menu in this diner). Good Burgers! There’s plenty of space with counter, table, and tatami seating. English menus are available. They also have a side entrance for take-outs. The restaurant seems a little confusing on google maps because there’s a separate location icon for sun-burger and the restaurant is on google maps as Jango but when you show up it’s the same building and there’s 3 different signs with 2 doorways anyways it’s all one spot and it was good price about 1000¥ for a burger they do more than burgers that’s just what I happened to have.
