It's not easy rating okonomiyaki in Hiroshima simply because they are so many places selling it! Felt that the okonomiyaki here was good though and relatively well-priced. As usual, you can choose between a noodle or udon base and the version with cheese was especially nice. There are also other side dishes to choose from, such as grilled fresh oysters which were nicely done. Do note that the okonomiyaki portions are huge so small eaters might want to share. The place itself is located slightly off the main shopping stretch along one of the small side roads and the entrance to the shop itself is somewhat inconspicuous (do refer to pictures!). The interior itself was slightly cramp, but in a cosy way, and the lighting seemed to deliberately designed to be on the dimmer side. All the locals were walking by us and eating at other restaurants nearby. After getting tired waiting, I looked to see if there were other Okonomiyaki places nearby and this one showed up in my search.
It didn't have as many ratings but when we entered, they had more places to sit and some of those locals were eating here! I always think it's a good sign when you find yourself at a restaurant with many locals.
The staff were very friendly and helped explain the menu. Both my wife and I ordered the Okonomiyaki with cheese and it was delicious!
