We had an amazing experience at SakeBank last week! Visiting from Australia, we wanted to try a selection of authentic Japanese sake, and the SakeBank surpassed our expectations!
They had a great selection of sake available to try and the owner (who also spoke great English) was so kind and helpful, full of knowlegde. He provided us with a greater understanding of the sake we were sampling, and the differences in taste, colour and origin, which further enhanced our experience and appreciation.
We especially enjoyed trying the local Hiroshima sake, as well as the seasonal Autumn sake!
The value for money was excellent. We decided to go with the 90min 2,500¥ per person which was great value for the amount of sake we were able to sample. We also had a chat with a few of the other friendly local customers, which really added to our experience!
We also picked up a booklet at the venue (in English) which detailed everything you need to know about sake - some very interesting facts to satisfy the sake lover!
The place is easy to find using Google maps, located on 2F of the building. There is a sign out the front to guide you in. We especially loved how the sign read "Sake tasting buffet"! Such a great, catchy drawcard!
If you love sake, we fully recommend you visit SakeBank Hiroshima. A fantastic wholesome experience - educational, friendly, cosy, clean, authentic and memorable.
Thank you for the experience. We hope to visit...
Read moreGreat place to try different sake in a great location with a friendly owner!
Easy location to find on the 2nd floor of the building. Once you get there, there are many tables and seats within the space. We were there on an early Thursday evening, so we were able to get a table right away.
We chose the 4-tasting option for 1,500 yen. There were also options for individual sake pours and for all-you-can-drink for 1 or more hours starting at 2,000 yen.
We could walk up to any of the refrigerated cases to choose any sake we wanted to try and pour for ourselves. We even got recommendations from the owner, who also helped with the pours whenever needed. There were options for seasonal, fruity, Hiroshima, and well-known brands of sake that we could choose from.
We also got a free informational guide from the owner to help us learn more about sake.
Would definitely recommend this place and would...
Read moreThis store is on the second floor of the building so you have to take the stairs up(very easy to miss)! It is the first store by the staircase so once you’re on it you will definitely see it.
The store is quite quaint with many bar stools around small tables. The maximum capacity looks to be around 22?
When we entered at 6pm, we were basically the only ones in the store apart from the owner so he was very willing to speak about the origins, tastes and trends of the sake available. This made the experience very enjoyable and enriching! Furthermore, the prices are not that unreasonable. We paid 1500yen for 4 shots of tasters each so we managed to try a really large variety of sake! If we could drink more, we would definitely have gone for the unlimited sake in 1 hour for 2000 yen!
For the price and the wide amount of options available, this place is a...
