The hundreds of huge tins of diced tomato at the doorway should have warned me off. This is one time reviews have failed me. Only read two that got it right. The food was TERRIBLE. The noodles were like Mee, thin and stringy and had bad mouthfeeel. The broth was a whole different ballgame. What were they thinking? Italian and Japanese flavours are not good bedfellows and having bottles of EVO to supplement an already disastrous combination of ingredients could only make it worse. First, the chicken slices are soooo small compared to other Menya restaurant outside Kagoshima. Read moreThis was definitely a unique Ramen experience in Kagoshima! The Tomato soup tastes a lot like minestrone, and it’s topped with mozzarella cheese too! I also order extra Chashu toppings for a more epic meal time.
I also seasoned my soup with their in-house lemon olive oil (they also sell it). The flavor profile completely changed and it’s so delicious!
Overall it’s like having your favorite bowl of Minestrone soup but with al dente Ramen and Mozzarella cheese. 10/10...
