Great value for money by business hotel standard. Amazing location in the commercial and touristic area of Tenmonkan and not far away from the main train station of Kagoshima Chuo. The single room I booked was clean and functional, and most importantly the window can be partially opened to allow some ventilation when the weather was good. My room was facing the Sakurajima (a bit inclined though), which is another plus for me. The room was also equipped with a small fridge to store a few fruits I bought from nearby supermarket. If I can name a downside (minor complaint though) - there's only one hard pillow (hard-'soft' pillow combined into one) provided, which may be uncomfortable for some.

The breakfast buffet was above average and extensive, including common stuffs in typical Japanese business hotels and a few local fares. My favorite is the keihan, which is a Satsuma white rice dish with rich and flavorful free range chicken stock, along with some topping of choice. What a way to start the day. The ventilation of the dining space was also excellent - I knew I always went early but the CO2 reading rarely exceeded 650 ppm whenever...

Hotel is quite a distance from the Kagoshima station. As there were 4 adults, we decided to cab upon arrival. With 4 luggage’s it was abit challenging, 2L and 2M luggage sizes. Thankfully our cab driver allowed one of us to hold the lighter luggage in our lap and took us all to the hotel. Leaving we encountered a very rude taxi driver outside the hotel. He bullied us and took one luggage and put into his trunk. Signalled another cab to come pick the rest of us and literally threw our second luggage to the other cab. Shocked us. He insisted only 2 passengers and one luggage and demanded ¥1,000 fare not meter. Stayed in a twin room for 4 nights. Room is clean and they tidy up our room everyday. Room size is as standard Japanese room, not very spacious but we are good (two girls). Centrally located with shops and restaurants around. Airport bus stop just opposite and also 24 hours supermarket (驚安殿堂) just in a few blocks. |Would recommend to friends...
