Overall I felt this was overhyped and was left feeling disappointed.
Food- we ordered the chef’s special and minced tuna bowl. The side dishes were very small, even more so considering the price. The fish portions were also disappointing, considering the amount you could get from nearby restaurants for much less. I also didn’t enjoy the small fish that came with the chef’s special but that is a preference. We ordered a highball and plum wine with soda and enjoyed both of those.
Service - we waited 40 minutes to be seated, it wasn’t clear that you needed to sign your name to reserve a spot in the queue so wasted 10 of those. I felt bad for the servers as they were clearly busy and it’s impossible for one server to cater to the whole restaurant during a busy period. As a result we had minimal contact and a delayed drinks order.
Atmosphere - The restaurant looked nice, clean and rustic. However given the constant churn of customers it did all feel a bit rushed.

We both ordered Today’s Akatsuki Chef Special’s Bowl which turned out to be really fresh and good. I love the freshness I received from that bowl combined with all the side dishes provided.
The owner is super friendly and the staff there were super efficient and friendly. We received a great service and enjoyed our lunch time there. Recommended to come and try their shirasu, scallop, and tuna, also with their special soy sauce. The BEST✨

I got the Akatsuki Chef's Special Bowl with aging bluefin tuna, salmon roe, crab, salmon, and minced tuna. Everything was super fresh and the aging on the bluefin gave it such a rich flavor. My friend had the Aging Bluefish Tuna Marinated Bowl and loved it too – the marinade was perfect.
The service was impeccable, which made the whole experience even better.
