A must try! The food is superb and staff are extremely nice!
You may worry that quantity may not be too small or the taste will be somewhat inadequate - which are sometimes true at vegan restaurants in Japan. This place will prove you wrong! haha
I ordered the vegetable curry and it was just awesome. It has got such a rich taste. Curry lots of vegetables from potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, cabbage, etc. You can add spice on your own to make it to your preference. Poori was amazing - it brought me back to India. Side dish went perfectly with the curry and they were all tasty as well.
While I was having lunch, I saw a lady bringing fresh vegetables (probably local ones). The owner and staff of the place is amazing too. They build such a great relationship not only with the customer but also with the supplier as well.
The interior/exterior of the place is unique and creative as well. You will probable get a sense of using the best out of what’s available and not buying/using more than what’s needed.
Hidden in the corner of the residential area, I strongly recommend you to walk a little extra to have amazing lunch! I would come to Kamakura just to have some nice food and spend good time...

I settled for their special set that includes a potage, veggie sides and pickles, a curry, poori and rice, and ended with dessert and a choice of drink. Even though I was in a separate room from the kitchen, service was very attentive. My glass was kept topped up, and my dessert and drink came when I finished the main meal. Both the guy and the lady were really nice and friendly. The food was simple home-cooking that was made with care; and the flavors of the vegetables really shine. The poori and spring roll were a little too greasy for me, though. And I feel that the flavors of the meal don’t really match and complement each other i.e. everything was mostly salty and savory, but little in terms of fresh, bright and sour to add contrast. However, it was good, and I came away satisfyingly full, but not...
Read moreSuch a surprising and wonderful experience. Lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Staff are very friendly, speak English & Japanese and are knowledgeable about allergies and dietary requirements.
Feels like you are dining in someone's backyard except that the food is world class. The set menu would not be out of place in a high end fine dining restaurant.
Can't recommend this place...
