The quest for good bread is a serious one in Japan, often leading to remote corners of the countryside. So when Pide opened just down my street, I was filled with excitement and high expectations. Nordic and Turkish inspirations, what could be better? And it didn’t disappoint for a second. This is, quite honestly, the best sourdough bread I’ve had in Japan. The Turkish specialty breads are just as impressive, capturing the exact taste I remember from my travels in Turkey. Their sandwiches are generous, fresh, and absolutely delicious, high five for the classic BMO! And now, saving the best for last: the buns. The cinnamon ones are fantastic, but as someone who puts cardamom in nearly everything, the cardamom buns truly stole my heart.
