With all the fancy presentation and gimmicks, I couldn’t help but worry this might be one of those “looks good, tastes disappointing” situations… Chestnut Cheesecake – It was not too sweet, and while it had a nice milky flavour, the chestnut purée wasn’t nearly as rich or intense as I’d hoped. The cheesecake itself was creamy and smooth, quite well made, but I was really here for the chestnut – and that part just fell a bit flat. Matcha Cheesecake – The first thing that hit me was the sweetness. Unfortunately, it lacked the green, unique and slightly bitter fragrance that makes matcha so refreshing. The texture was also on the sticky side, and left me feeling quite thirsty. Overall, quite disappointing. The shop itself is simply decorated. There were two of us and two kids – we ordered two desserts to share while sitting in. When we politely asked the staff if we could have an extra spoon, they actually refused and seemed rather annoyed. The shop wasn’t busy at all, with no other customers around. I understand every business has its own policies, and maybe they were just sticking to the rules – but it left a bad impression.

Kawagoe offers a variety of delicious cheesecakes, often featuring local ingredients like sweet potatoes, a regional specialty. Many cafes and bakeries in the area serve rich and creamy cheesecakes, sometimes infused with satsumaimo (Japanese sweet potato) for a unique flavor. These treats are a perfect blend of traditional and modern Japanese desserts, making them a must-try for visitors with a sweet tooth.

The Matcha Cheese Cup and the Basque Burn Cheese Cup were both awesome! The texture is creamy and the taste has the right sweetness and richness. I prefer the matcha one because it has red beans in it that gives it wonderful feel in every bite. I highly recommend this place especially to cheese lovers like me.

The cheesecake with cheese was great. At first the shop was closing so we planned to take out but the staff didn't get it and serve us the cake. So we decide to finish the cake in the store and the favor was good. Even they have English menu but you still need to order in Japanese. Overall good experience,...
