Nagasaki Jiro Cafe — Restaurant in Kumamoto

It feels like you go back in time. A café with historical architecture. Perfect for a calm day to have a coffee or hot choco while watching the old street with passerby and tram on track. I like their concept of having a notebook on each table that you can write or draw your thoughts and let it share to other who will come and dine in. It's like you save a piece of your memory there. They exude a nostalgic charm, with its vintage ambiance and a view of the Kumamoto city tram passing by the window. Their black coffee had a deep, rich aroma, with a well-balanced smooth bitterness. The French toast was golden brown on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Served with whipped cream and caramelized apple sticks, it offered a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. It's on 2F of a bookstore. Take the stairs beside the bookstore entrance. We wrongly ordered the Vienna coffee instead of black coffee - it tasted ok, but I remember the price was on the high side. We had french toast too but it was slightly too sweet for our liking. Otherwise there are plenty of drip bags for purchase and we brought some home.
