Cafe Miyake Shouten — Restaurant in Kurashiki

On our little peach quest, we ordered a peach parfait, peach shaved ice and a peach soda to cool down during our late July visit. The staff welcomed us warmly, which already made the stop feel pleasant.

Out of the three, the peach soda was the winner, so refreshing and light after walking under the scorching sun. The parfait was okay, but the peach tasted more poached or canned than fresh, and the shaved ice was decent though not too memorable.

Not sure why there's so much hype about this place. I tried the Miyake Curry which is a weekend/holiday special and it was very disappointing. The curry itself was terribly average. Can barely taste the spices and there weren't much veggies or meat at all. The "Panna Cotta" we got also was just normal ice cream.
