I found out about this place through Tik Tok and it looked so delicious and beautiful I knew I had to try it! My assumption was the whole thing you are eating including the flowers are made from ice cream but that wasn’t true!
When we arrive this shop was within a building with multiple shops and I loved the vibes- so many plants and green. We were the only ones there but who eats ice cream when it’s 35 degrees outside in February. I decided to pick the three flowers and get the cone. When I ordered and paid we sat down waiting. I saw them making the cone- there’s a chocolate cone, vanilla ice cream, puffed rice, more ice cream, three different flavored paste made rose petals- I did the white bean paste, strawberry, and butterfly pea and then the petals are piped on there using another paste.
Pretty cool! I had to take multiple pictures! When we were sitting eating, we were given some complimentary green tea- was so kind of them, it felt good to drink something so hot with the of contrast of cold ice cream.
The flowers with the paste: strawberry was yummy- tasted like strawberry, the other two I really can’t figure out how to explain it, it’s thick kind of chewy flavored well and sweet. It was all great!
I’d recommend it if your into these flavors! I wish I knew this wasn’t fully ice cream- I had assumed the whole thing was ice cream but it’s not. The staffs kind! Definitely worth it if you’re into this! Presentation...

Save & share if you love unique desserts 🍦🌸✨
If you’re in Kyoto and want something truly one of a kind, you need to visit (THISIS)SHIZEN. This café feels like stepping into a little forest 🌿, with beautiful plants all around and an atmosphere that’s both calm and stylish.
Their flower ice cream creations are absolutely stunning 🌸 — definitely the most beautiful ice cream I’ve ever seen! The cone is layered with chocolate, vanilla ice cream, puffed rice, and then topped with delicate rose petals made from flavored bean paste (like strawberry 🍓, white bean, and butterfly pea 🌺). Watching the staff carefully pipe each petal feels like a little performance 🎨.
The flavors are unique — sweet, chewy, and rich. Pairing the cold ice cream with the hot complimentary green tea 🍵 was such a cozy and thoughtful touch.
It’s not just dessert, it’s an experience — perfect for photos 📸 and even better for memories.
Would you try an ice cream made to look like real flowers? 🌸🍦

Read moreSaw a TikTok about this place & wanted to try. Sadly the gemstone ones were sold out as were the matcha drink. My friend & I had the flower bouquet option, you can choose 3 different flavoured flowers, made from paste (like black sesame, sweet potato/taro, strawberry, etc). The food was a nice treat, unique & fun to experience. Not amazing in flavour. The decor & ambience was really nice - I liked the rainforest sounds. But the seating, although unique & stylishly embodies nature, was uncomfortable, and a bit awkward. The staff worked well but found them to be cold & as of they really didn’t want to be there. I ordered in Japanese so it was not a language barrier issue. Just as if they were fed up with people being here.
Just because of the uncomfortable seating, the staffs interaction & the food being ok in flavour it’s a 3.5 🌟 still worth a check out if you’re in the area but don’t go out...
