I always have a pleasant shopping experience in JP, we love here and the people.
However today we met the SKINHEAD staff in Kyoto BEAMS Japan shop, he often used “wait!” “No” to reply, we completely understood it might be a language barrier and at all time he kept showing his “unpleasant and impatient” attitude.
Until we decided to buy a clothing and asked a new one (even we avoided for asking his service, unfortunately no one is around) , he replied us directly “No last one” (thanks for giving me 3 words this time) without checking, so my hubby tried to ask the other young lady (she was helpful all the time) and she DID trying to check the stock, until the skinhead staff came and used Japanese told her something, she stopped to check and reply me “no stock, sorry” INSTANTLY. In JP, the staff normally willing to check and make sure the stock before they responded you.
We were not the first time had shopping in this shop & have a chance to misunderstand him but shopping experience is a journey, a process via staff’s attitude and body language to lead you to the point. Although other stuffs are very helpful, we wouldn’t visit this particular BEAMS shop in...
Read moreBright and nicely laid out store with goods that showcase Japanese products and culture, particular items of interest are products that are a collaboration with local/regional artists and manufacturers. The sales staff at the store are very friendly and welcoming. Tax-free available and hassle free.

She went out of her way to help me secure a Beams Kyoto exclusive t-shirt in my size which sold out the morning I visited the store. She got my details and contacted me when they restocked a few days later and put it on hold for me to pickup. She made the shopping experience very pleasant and I am glad to have gotten to know her....
Read moreI immediately fall in love with this Beams Japan Kyoto ShinPuhKan store.
I love the concepts of this store that covers fashions, Japanese culture, arts, and craftsmanship etc. Most importantly items here made in Japan with superb quality.
I would like to express my appreciation to 松下様who is a nice guy that served me well during my visits to the store. I paid multiple visits to the shop during my trip, he welcomed me always with warm greetings.
I learned a lot from 松下様 of Japanese culture and the interesting stories behind each of the Japanese cultural crafts and fashion items that I purchased.
I definitely will visit here again...
