Bar ROKUZA — Restaurant in Kyoto

My rating shows up as two stars since the service and atmosphere are good, but the food is a one star. I would go for a drink, but not to eat. We were very disappointed with the food quality at ROKUZA, especially since this is a nice Westin. We ordered a pizza, hamburger and sandwich. None of us liked any item or could even finish our meals. The burger was more like a meatball on a bun with strange flavoring and texture. The pizza looked like it was a frozen store bought, but not even that good. The crust and sauce tasted worse than they looked. We had a long day and were hungry and excited for some good food. The ROKUZA bar at The Westin Kyoto offers an undeniably beautiful and sophisticated ambiance—perfect for a quiet drink or a relaxed evening. The lighting, decor, and overall atmosphere are refined and welcoming.

However, the service left much to be desired. Upon entering, I noticed a sign advertising beef curry for ¥1500 near the checkin table. Curious, I asked the waiter if it was available since it wasn’t listed on the menu. Rather than clarifying, he curtly told me “no” and, even after I pointed out the promotion, he simply ignored me.

The food is average, not bad not great either. We both had the seasonal tapas.

For a bar in a luxury hotel, I expected more courtesy and attentiveness. The setting is lovely, but the dismissive service detracted from what could have been a great experience.

初めて宿泊した際に、オリジナルカクテルを楽しもうと利用しました。

店は大変広く、エリアごとに趣の異なる家具で設えられたセンス光るお店です。 素敵な空間をチャージ料金なしで楽しめたのは、とても良かったです。 アルコールの取り扱いも豊富で、特にウイスキーの種類は印象的でした。

ホテルオリジナルカクテルは、シロップ感が強く好みは分かれると思いました。 個人的には少し値段を上げてでも生フルーツカクテルを期待いたします。

唯一残念なのは、スタッフの方が高級ホテルのBarとは思えない程度の低いサービス意識。 あいさつや言葉遣いなど基本的な所のはずなのですが、、
