BASE358 — Restaurant in Kyoto

Amazing food to go with drinks. All the dishes are unique with a bit of creative twist, well-balancing the western and Japanese style of appetizers.

We are tourists from Hong Kong who know very limited Japanese, but we tried our best to communicate with staff in Japanese with the help of Google translate😂 We did not encounter any unpleasant experiences with the staff as mentioned in other comments. On the contrary, all staff were friendly in my opinion. When we asked if there was a table for two, a young waiter with glasses checked with us politely if we were okay with japanese menu. The chef even apologised sincerely when one dish was served with a bit of delay which was indeed totally fine for us.

We ordered 9-10 dishes plus 3 drinks in total that costed around 9000yen. Great deal for such high quality food, chill dining atmosphere and nice staff. Definitely gonna revisit if we traveled to...

Went first time at 2pm but they said Fully booked but serve new customer right after we step out from the restaurant.. then we went again next day 5pm and they said fully booked while inside is totally empty as they reopen at 5pm after lunch break. Not sure if they refuse to serve foreign...

Yeah that was a pretty dank meal though.

On an unrelated note, fish is pretty fun to eat am I right? Yeah this was some good fish.aybe that was related.
