We tried to go to Ippudo but the line was long and it was raining. We went here instead, family friendly. I went for the special set with beer combo for about 110 JPY. Selected the firm noodles and more pork fat broth. I had no idea it would have THAT much fat, but that's my own fault. The broth was tasty but to try and avoid a heart attack, I tried to filter the fat as I could but it did stick to the noodles and egg. Note for the future go with the chef recommended level for broth.
I personally liked the firm noodles, had good taste. The gyoza was good for the combo price and the friend chicken came with rice and was very tasty. They do have English menus available for those that are visiting, and are kid friendly. Bottom line is the food was tasty for a good price.
Staff was very polite and sociable and service was fast!

Read moreWe stumbled on this place at night when we couldn’t find a good place open at 11pm. The person that greeted us right away was on top of everything all night. This kid was hustling the whole time. I love that everyone, all the employees, say goodbye in unison when someone leaves. The service is 5 stars for sure. It’s also a kid friendly place as there is sign next the table talking about kids are messy so let them make a mess and they will clean it up. Good atmosphere, clean. Like another review I saw the only issue with the food was it was too salty. The food itself was delicious and the price is fantastic, just wish they used a bit less salt. Overall this place is worth the visit, especially...

Read that this was a very popular ramen place in Kyoto, and by golly they’re right!
Their shoyu soup base was super tasty, flavourful and not overly rich. Their chashu wasn’t tough or gamey. Most important of all, their noodle didn’t reek of that awful ammonia smell (there was a slight trace but nothing too pungent).
And though their egg yolk looked firm like it had already set, it was actually very soft like jelly(I didn’t know that they could achieve such a texture).
And somehow all the ramen places we’ve tried, their leeks always tasted very good. Love this place. Definitely would come...
