Cafe Hypericum — Restaurant in Kyoto

Popped in today while we were in the area. There was no wait, food was prepared while we waited, and not prepackaged. There were 2 ladies working this small, quaint restaurant, and of course there was the cat. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was somewhat different, in that you felt like you were in someone’s home.

We ordered some sandwiches and a curry dish, which were all very good. From experience, the sandwich was spectacular. It was a very filling sandwich and I had to take my last half apart and skip the bread to enjoy the actual concoction that made the sandwich.

There is a cat present. He was not a nuisance by any means but for anyone allergic, it might be something you should know in advance.

This is my second visit to this #cafe. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm. I was lucky to give a visit before Christmas with all these cute decorations placed in the cafe. The place has only four tables (if I am not mistaken), so it may not accommodate big groups. Excellent little cafe close to the Heian Shrine. The food is perfect for a lunch break: light and absolutely delicious. I will highly recommend this cafe to all my friends visiting Kyoto.
